Feel like I was duped here with detailing and ceramic coating

Ugh. After reading this I'm not feeling too optimistic about this. I guess I'll see it when I pick it up. I'll be posting pictures tomorrow and if it isn't good I'll be challenging this with my CC company. This entire process has made me nauseous. Live and learn I guess.

I'm going to be the optimist and say that because you rode them they are actually doing a good job.

The place is called Studio A.

Wait a minute...this guy is mostly an airplane detailer and has a patent for protecting deicing boots? This isn't making much sense.

Donald Trump is on the list of their clients. Okay, this is getting interesting although a bit fishy.

Personally, I'd never use Ceramic Pro. For one, their website is just as atrocious as the OP's so-called detailers website. And two, I quit reading about them as soon as I read "9h". Nope and NOPE!

Yeah it was just inexperience and not really knowing what to look for on my part. I feel much more educated now, unfortunately what's happened, happened. I did touch base with a forum member in here who is going to take a look at my vehicle and give me his opinion and if can and needs to be corrected.

Not a great experience, but not much I can do about at this point besides trying to dispute it on my credit card.

Just get a pain and suffering discount so you can buy some decent upkeep products with it.

It is the least they could to make it right....those google reviews can steer customers.

Any progress with the development on this? Curious of the outcome... :dblthumb2:

Final result. I think it looks better and it’s hard to tell with just a light on it. Not thrilled with it but maybe that’s the best i should expect? It’s cloudy out so I can’t see it in sunlight. Should be able to tomorrow. I’m going to contact the member here and get his thoughts on bringing it in to take a look at it. To me I thought it would look better, but maybe my expectations were too high.

Bro, that looks TERRIBLE!!!! There’s swirl marks everywhere and I can’t really tell but looks like rotary buffer holograms too. Time to call the credit card company.

How do you think I should approach this with the detailer? Is this a legitimate claim you think?

I will leave evaluation to the pros out here. But i can tell for sure that this guy should be ashamed of the quality of work they do. All you had to go through paying that much and get this? Sorry you’re having to deal with it but i think it’s time to held them accountable and fight for your hard earned money.

Unacceptable. They did a quick one step. I would complain and ask for some of the money back. Also check if they coated it or not.

Have you discussed how deep , 50,60,70,80,90,100% of swirls will be removed at correction step before he “started” on the vehicle? If not, i guess it will be hard to argue the results, especially in legal fields..

No, he just said that he would remove all of them except deep scratches.

I would imagine this specific wording is nowhere on the paper, is it not?

This is the exact wording:

❖ 3-4 stage paint correction by machine polishing with Studio A Paint DNA #1,2,3, and 4 to remove all swirls, micro-marring, light-medium scratches, haze, holograms, bird stains, sanding marks, acid rain and tree sap stains, and all but the deepest of scratches (requires wet sand and buff).

I think even HD Speed alone would have gotten you better results than that. We don't have a video of how you brought it in, maybe it was completely trashed but even then, at $1700, this guy should have really fixed it. Wet sand deeper scratches, compound, polish, coat. He charged for all that. Didn't do any of that. To coat a car like that is a waste of coating because you're covering all those flaws. Sounds like you're in for some arguing back and forth, good luck with that. I would not accept a 3rd attempt by the same guy. He clearly doesn't know what he's doing.

Perfect. Get one of the forum’s pros opinion, make a call to your CC company on fraud activity, get your money back and get someone who knows what they do to work on the car. Good luck man
