Removing Hydro Blue?

I’m loving Hydro Blue but also have a obsession with LSP’s. I was wondering if CP Eraser will strip it off easily or will I need to hit it with some polish? I’m wanting to try the PL+/845 combo next.

Eraser won't remove it. If you want a clean slate you are going to need a polish.

You are going from the least labor intensive, spray on rinse dry, done. To polishing, IPA wipe down, apply and remove Power Lock, wait 12 hours and apply and remove 845..the most labor intense.

Yeah pretty much. Like I said,it’s just a obsession I guess and to tell the truth I kinda miss touching my trucks. The 10 Minute PS/Hydro Blue combo is amazing though.

I totally get wanting to try the PL/845 combo. But if you want easier-- you could lay the 845 down on the Hydro and I bet you wouldn't be able to tell a difference.

I think I know what you mean. One reason I haven't tried coating stuff yet. I've wax my car like 3 times in a span of 5 weeks, did my wife's twice in same time frame. If I use the stuff like Hydro Blue, they'll last too long. How will I wax on wax off ?

Exactly,lol. To me it’s a therapeutic and a big stress reliever. If I had time I’d just use some Nube on it and wash/hand wax one,shoot maybe even twice a week! I just had to try the HB and 10min but just lasts to dang long...wait,is that a bad thing? Lol

If you want to touch your truck more often. The PL/845 would be a combo that you would not be needed to touch touch more. I think they have a longer longevity than the 10min PS/Hydro Blue combo. The option to apply 845 over it that was noted above. Could be a good option if not ready to polish the paint clean. Or get a nice carnuaba or any other topper of your likeing on the paint once and a while. And I hear what you mean with changing the LSP before it wears off to try something new LOL. The Power Lock want to have a bare paint to be applyied on. But 845IW I think is not so finicky with that and just a clean paint to apply on. Sure you may not get the full longevity from it. But if it last 6 months or 2-3 months seems not to be a deal breaker. While I write this the McKees 37 coating prep wash comes to mind. That could deminish the 10min/HB a lot I think.

Yeah I expect the combo to last as long or longer. Along with liking to lay hands on my trucks I also like to see the different behavior between LSP’s,my OCD isn’t getting much better with age. Lol. I didn’t think about the McKee’s wash! I’ll give Nick a shout and see if it may help speed things up. Thanks for chiming in!

Griots Paint Prep ….

There was a You Tube video testing Hydroblue and the guy in the video removed it with Super Clean. You could probably try that before resorting to polishing.
