105 and 205 have been my go to for years. Recently I switched to CarPro Clear Cut. It replaces the 105 perfectly. But it finishes much better and less dust. I have some small bottles of Griots creams. They work good but I didn’t feel I got as good and quick of a cut. This is a completely trashed black tundra crew max I did a few weeks ago. ClearCut and 205 used. Followed by CarPro reflect then Cq 3.0.

Just to chime in....

First I hope you don't mind but I edited your post and put some LINE BREAKS in-between your chunks of text to make it easier for ANYONE to read.

The human eye struggles to drop down from the end of one sentence to the beginning of the next sentence after about 3 sentences in a paragraph. Always amazed at how many people just type in chunks.

Then I hit the [ENTER] key and put a space between each of your pictures to separate them out. I use TapaTalk all the time and do all of the above in TapaTalk, it just takes a few seconds.

As for the Griot's compounds/polishes - they are truly top notch quality. I've been teaching detailing classes with these products ever since they were introduced and no matter what the car, the results are always top notch and more important consistent.

It looks like It's been through a car wash located around a bunch of dirt roads.

The wash I owned had sand particles embedded in the rocker panel cloth when I took it over.

Griots mfgs their own chemicals so why not their own waxes/sealants/polishes/compounds. Griot's is one of the best companys out there, period.

There's nothing wrong with nice bottles, their caps alone make using their products worthwhile.

I get the invested part but there are so many great products out there. It’s kind of a loss to you if you are not willing to at least try them. Who knows, you may find something that works much better for you. I always try to stay open minded in this business. There is a cool samples thread here and it’s a way to try something new out by trading with fellow members.

On the flip side of the products you use work for you then I guess “don’t fix what isn’t broke”

It’s a ParkZone RC Corsair. I have a basement full of different planes. Still a kid I guess. The Corsair I keep in the garage. It’s my go to plane for throwing in the back of the 4Runner.

Nothing wrong with that either.

If you have something that works, then that is what you should use.

I also tend to stick to products made by the manufacturer, but these days I've been branching out more.

I started with Meguiar's in 1996, so I have a lot of loyalty there. They've also worked really well for me, so I continued with them.

In 2015 I got some Menzrna, and Rupes polishes, used then and liked them.

This year I started using HD, and Poorboy's. Also very good.

Just about anything someone can find here will work, it will do the job, but It's up to you to decide what characteristics you want from the product. Thinks like cycle time, viscosity, user experience, etc.

The reason I started exploring is for something that dusts less than M100. I found something, then BOOM, Meguiar's comes out with their own reduced dust compound.

That being said, I'm hoping to get the HD ACA abrasives from the gf for Xmas!

Worth looking into. I think I got some samples from Bunky (Thanks again!). Liked them enough to buy some. I'll look to see if I still have those samples. I'll pass them along to you if you like.

I'm not a "pro" myself, but we can all contribute in one way or another.

Yeah, I kind of feel the same about being "invested" but with time, I got over that for myself. The Megs 105/205 went to the back of the shelf to make room for others.
Now I have more products than I care to have, taking up space. I'll eventually be getting rid of what's left of the Megs 105, 205, 101, 100, and some other Megs stuff.
I use their D300 more than the others and will keep that.

Totally agree with you. The 105/205 combo was working well for me, to where I didn't need to "fix" anything. It worked....until the day came where it didn't. But I opened up to the idea of trying new things (started that downward spiral) and glad I did.

YES! The samples thread comes in handy. And some companies make sample sized bottles to buy as well.

Oh Monica, I wish I knew this! I've been buying from them long before joining AG, I go back to 2005 with them and as a whole, I don't think there's a better company out there....then there's the customer service, best of the very best! I have a digital tire gauge that I bought from them around 2007, it not only still works its using the SAME battery even, no kidding! Their recent addition of the foaming products (Foaming surface prep and surface wash & Poly Gloss) shows they're paying attention to the market and don't rush a product out just to "join the herd" either. I can't wait for their paint coating to come out, I'm sure its going to be AWESOME!

*I know of no work being done developing a paint coating by Griot's but I have to assume they're working on one*

However, we kind of do lean towards being just a little bit informed before making blanket statements about certain products before you actually research them.

You will like M110. I was playing around with it a little today. Little to no dusting but a nice working time. Not as much cut as M100 or Sonax Cut Max.
