Agreed. Anything that requires a hose rinse doesn’t get added to my year round regular maintenance schedule (although I use Hydro Blue for wheels in spring thru fall). SiO2 sprays requiring zero rinsing get me more excited this time of year.

Just saw a video by Apex Detailing that used an applicator to put the coating on. He said it was a much better way of applying with less wasted product.

Base layer is recommended to be applied to a wet surface during the drying process. Seems like more work using a DA at that point. Could give it a try and see if it is worth it.

I believe you are confusing silicone and silicon dioxide (aka SiO2). Two different things.

HCW is an SiO2 product that has no abrasives in it and no cleaning ability.
