Creeper from Griot’s or Speed Master?

I had one of those, total garbage. It didn't last maybe 8 detailing jobs. And the wheels always come loose. Enjoy it while it lasts.

agreed, i have to keep tightening the wheels as they constantly come loose (in the garage as we speak). if i could do it all over again, i would of saved up and bought one of the other offerings mentioned in this thread...

I know many who have this and they work fine. How much do you weigh? You might be exceeding the weight limit if they are wearing out that fast.

I have 3 Craftsman ones like this and I always put loctite on the wheel bolts so they won't come loose.

try a dab of loctite on the wheel bolts.

i thought of doing that, but the wheels are cheap too LOL. i can still use it, but it's not very stable and one of these days i wouldn't be surprised if it collapses on me...

Are you referring to the HF one? I think they have a lifetime warranty on everything. Craftsman I have no idea anymore since Sears are all shutting down pretty much.

yep, the one from HF. iirc, i payed around $20 (years ago) for it as well (have their cart too). if it were to break now and not be usable anymore, i at least got my use out of it...

I did, the wheels are gargbage, they vibrate so much over concrete surfaces it broke loose the loc tite.
PS USAF Crew Chief, we safety wired everything on jets, so loctite is second nature in my life.

Yup. Loctite is great stuff, but it won't fix garbage engineering.

That's cool, so it's probably a weight limit issue then. Loctite can only do so much. The Griot's seat mentioned in this thread looks a little more sturdy and might be a good option for you.

HF:
Lifetime Warranty on Hand Tools — We guarantee our Hand Tools to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product. Limitations apply. Harbor Freight Tools will replace any hand tool that fails to properly work during the lifetime of the original purchaser.

Obviously that doesn't include $20 crawlers.

And Craftsman brand was sold by Sears to raise money. I have my grandfathers 50+ years old craftsman tools, that was real quality. Who knows now, but the warranty was no questions asked, unlike HF's warranty.

Interesting too, I bought a bunch of Husky Tools from THD back in th 90's and they were all made in the USA, not anymore.

And my weight has nothing to do with the garbage creeper wearing out. Please share with us what would be your ideal weight for a person to get maximum life out of a $20.00 Harbor Freight creeper?

You mention the price like you wouldn't expect it to last very long anyway since it's only $20, so not sure why you're complaining about it. Every seat has a recommended weight limit I'm sure. Craftsman I believe is 250 LBS.

No where was I complaining about it, I said it was worthless because it is, I didn't wine about it. And I don't weigh any where near that and you are the one who brought weight into it. Lucky for you I'm not a person who is sensitive about that type of thing. I'm fit and in shape, so let the weight part you posted go, it's a piece of junk, case closed. Disposo creeper is all that it is. Bye bye.

That creeper is definitely not “FDA approved”.......

What’s this about the FDA? What are we talkin bout in here? Lol.

Ha! FDA, maybe in this case is stands for Fat Detailer A$$. (Not call calling the poster or anyone this, just being silly)

That HF stool looks awfully similar to the AG store one that I linked earlier

AG no name creeper

Was just looking online to see what else is out there for rolling stools (I believe technically a creeper is for laying on) and found a variety ones. Came up with some that are a mini tool chest on casters with a padded seat. May be useful to someone

Sorry I am late to your question. Both of these are great, I own the Griots unit with all the extras. The cushion is a must item. The larger cup holder is nice but the small ones fit the Boss polish bottles only, not anything larger. Wheels are great and roll easily while sitting. I use it frequently, not disappointed.

Just an update for all thinking of griots pad for speed master (Adam’s/ and any other variant same design. Fits perfect on my speed master creeper
