Mother’s CMX is here!

HCW is worth trying and seeing which you like, they are similar but also different in their own ways

Yea still below 15 degrees here. I have a new car so I'm hoping to do a touchless wash, then a rinseless with N914, panel wipe and apply them. Especially because we may get more snow/slush in w days so should give time to cure and see how they perform!

Finally got a bottle from Pepboys! Almost left and saw 2 bottles of CMX in a corner! One bottle was crusted all over, looked like another bottle broke and leaked all over?

They didn't have any Megs HCW.

I dont have enough time, will try to perhaps clean the hood, panel wipe, apply half PNS and half CMX. Will do rear window half and half and perhaps 1 wheel of each as well!

I bought some extra microfibers so as not to ruin my nice ones lol.

On a funny note, nice guy working there. They didnt have HCW so he waa trying to sell me on the Megs old spray wax (maroon bottld). I tried to explain to him the newer cermaic sprays but I think i lost him lol.

Finally had the opportunity to coat the Explorer in CMX. Turned out glossy and slick, let's see what all the fuss it about lol. I also sealed the the windshield with griots window sealant.

Amazing! Please also let us how that glass sealant works? Not to go off topic but have been looking for a good glass coating. Looks like Aquapel or Gtechniq might be the way to go for me

Will do! It is supposed to rain all weekend and next week, so I will post an update as soon as I take it out.

Kinda surprised you didn't just use the CMX on glass!

BTW my bottle is on its way to me, along with the triple foam soap, can't wait to get it. I've decided to use the CMX on whatever we end up with as a replacement for my wife's Mazda 6. I plan on doing a Griot's clay mit to it, a light polishing (maybe more where and if needed) and then applying a coat of CMX, followed by a 2nd coat once it cures, however long that really is.

I thought about it, but I've had the Sealant for quite a bit and figured I'd use it. Lol

Goodluck on car shopping. What are you looking at so far? I looked at the Honda Accord today and they are quite impressive!

Just drove 420 miles in the pouring rain the wife was able to see a difference in the windshield on which side was preforming better.

I'll take pics tomorrow on how the car looks over all

As promised here is a quick walk around of the car, you can see the bug splatter trails as well in a few places on the hood as the water left streak trails.

So what's your overall arching opinion of it?

Mine changed after the first wash. Fresh it went on great and stood up to rain just fine. Took it through a touchless wash like I do most of the time with our other vehicles and with those that have TRUE coatings on them, the water beads tight like day one. Granted these are higher end coatings but still.

With CMX it performed more like a typical sealant than a coating. I took it through yesterday and then rinseless washed the truck in my garge and applied a third layer. Time will tell. I'm okay with it acting like a sealant for the price and ease of use but that's the category it's standing in now. I'm not much for spray on sealants to say if others are better. That said, PNS is still something I may end up applying to it next.

I'm a drying aid kinda guy, I get so busy that I basically live by touchless washes and then I'll do a throughout cleaning maybe every quarter. So I coat them for the best UV protection and then when I do hand wash I using a drying aid and I think CMX and HCW will for the bill great. I normally use PNS which is stronger and beads better and does act as close to a coating as a sealant can get.

For customers I think HCW is the easiest and best choice for a hand wash and drying aid. Easy to apply, great shine, nice beading, keeps the car clean, windows repel water, and hopefully last at least 3 months

So this car made the trip with me, it's a Dodge caravan, the fender has IGL poly Coating on it and the bumper has cancoat. Cancoat has been on there for 2 months o believe and Poly has been on there for 3 weeks.

Interesting, is it possible theres some surfactants left from the wash that's inhibiting the behavior?

I just went through a touchless and my PNS is still beading on my half panoramic roof and windshield I applied to. I'm planning on using N914 at panel wipe dilution and applying half CMX and PNS to roof, hood and rear windshield.

I have had some touchless leave behind the wax or rainx they apply and make water behavior change until after a couple of rain showers.

Not likely as I took both cars there regularly and never have issues. It's just the difference in CMX versus GYEON products

Ok thank you. I just finished doing my car. Did half in PNS and half in CMX. Will start a new durability thread.

CMX does go on easy and easy to remove. Left surface slick. Hoping to try it out in snow and rain tomorrow

Applied a second coat of CMX. It will be raining all week next week, so let see how the water acts. It will be sitting in the garage until Monday.
