Hello Autogeek Family! :xyxthumbs:

Today was our Anniversary for when we opened our little shop down here in our little town at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. First day of our Ninth year in business is done. :buffing:

I don’t know if eight years is overly special or worthy of being excited about but we’re pretty darn proud of our little shop & after all that’s been thrown at us along the way, I guess if we were simply standing here breathing I’d call that a victory.

I’m into my twenty fifth year in the detailing industry now & although at times it feels like just paying the bills, most of the time it still feels like I’m just having fun in my garage detailing cars. All the years gone by I have to say, it’s been the years since so I joined the Autogeek Online Forum almost seven years ago that have been the most memorable & outright fun. :xyxthumbs:

I have learned so much from being a part of this Forum & made a bunch of good friends along the way. Some of you I have met, some of you I may never meet but friends nonetheless. :props:

I have traveled from NZ to Florida twice in those years because of Autogeek. First draw card was Mikes Boot Camp Class which I attended in January 2015. I took so much more away from Mikes Class than I even realised at the time, to be honest - some things are still being realised.

We fell in love with Florida on this trip & thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I was lucky enough to return for Autogeeks 13th Annual Detail Fest (nearly this time last year) 2018 & along with my Brother Don (fly07sti on AGO) who was my roommate for the weekend, I met a few other Forum members & put faces to the names. :dblthumb2:

Good times indeed. We are planning a family return to USA in December this year & Autogeek is on our radar again & perhaps a catch up with a few Forum friends is in the mix too.

So there we go. From humble beginnings eight years ago, to being one of the most senior retailers in NZ & one of the premier detailing shops in the country. The journey continues & I hope you all come along with us for our steps towards the Tenth.

Thank you all for taking the time to read, & thank you all for being a part of Details!!! :props:

Great story and achievements. Wish you a happy trip to the US

This forum truly is a great place. Without it, I never would have had the opportunity to meet so many great people. Aaryn, I’d wish you continued success but you don’t need luck cause you’re a Beast and I know you will always thrive!

Awesome !! I am in year 1 detailing cars (started late n man this is a blast), only for hobby as of now until I get more experience as my day job chews up 60 hrs a week (4 cars to take care of, plus 3 family member cars)

Congratulation Aaryn!

WOW, has time flown by...

Bill

Congratulations Aaryn and your family!

Awesome to hear your success. Your work ethic and willingness to learn and try new things. Even if you have been in the business for a long time and still think it's fun to do your work. Means success in the end. And even the hard times you learn from and going forward with that in mind.

So fun to read your posts and comments on your work and the cool vehicals you work on.

Thanks for shareing it all with us!

/ Tony

congrats on your anniversary, and i wish you continued success! :props:

I am very happy for your success Aaryn. Many more successful years to you and your business. The fact that you made it through the first year is quite an accomplishment.

Good on ya sir! Awesome job! You definitely don’t make it in the detailing world without a good work ethic. You’ve worked on some amazing cars and here’s to plenty more in your 10th.

Congrats on your milestone! I've enjoyed reading your posts very much over the years.

This forum is my favorite of all the forums I frequent. While there are a few threads that turn nasty those are extremely rare (thankfully) and overall the signal to noise ratio is incredibly high. Everyone here seems to want to help each other, no matter their station in life or their level of detailing expertise.

Congrats Aaryn! It was great to meet you and Don last year.

I look forward to catching up with you again in December & meeting all those beautiful ladies of yours.

Wow time flies!

Congratulations to you and your family for all your success created through hard work and a true passion for the art and craft of detailing.

Completely impressed Aaryn!

Thank you Mike. :xyxthumbs:

Yeah Crazy how fast things go by. Four years since Boot Camp & almost a year since Detail Fest!!! Hopefully you’re gonna be around in December Mike, a catch up would be great.

Congratulation Aaryn!

Nice, good for you man. This is a great place to hang out & feed this disease called detailing. :buffing: If you can ever make it to one of Mikes Classes, I highly recommend doing so. The information Mike shares is incredible.

congrats on your anniversary, and i wish you continued success! :props:

Thank you VISITOR. :xyxthumbs:

Thank you LSNAutoDetailing. :xyxthumbs:

Awesome mate, thank you. We have a huge Mustang following down here in NZ, actually even locally in my wee town there is a strong scene. :xyxthumbs:

Cheers UncleDavy. :xyxthumbs:

Appreciate the kind words mate. You know, when Ange & I started out in business for ourselves we really had no idea how much the odds are stacked against you. The stats are pretty ugly to be honest & yeah, I gotta say - we are extremely proud of where we are at especially after the bank laughed us out the door & said it would never work at the beginning . . . .

I got that work ethic from my Mother, she is one heck of a Woman. Thank you man, year 10 on the way - I’ll be having a get together . . . You’re all invited! :props:

Congrats Aaryn! It was great to meet you and Don last year.

Thank you mc2hill. :xyxthumbs:

It was a pleasure meeting you & your lovely Wife too buddy. We will be back in Orlando in December, if you’re around it’d be great to catch up. :props: Pretty sure Don is coming out with his Family too.

Most excellent! And please hit me up in December!!!

Thank you Scott. :xyxthumbs:

Absolutely mate. I don’t really know how we’re gettin’ around at this stage but I know I wouldn’t be driving - you guys are all mad! Driving on the wrong side of the road in cars with the steering wheels on the left!!! I’m definitely looking into how to make this happen though. :props:

Excellent! Ping me ahead of time and I will send along some dining recommendations.

But I want to give a quick shout out to everyone for Bad As's Sandwiches in Orlando's Milk District. Along with a cool name and logo, this place has amazing sandwiches - or as I like to say 'Gourmet food on a bun'. But don't just take my word for it - this place has won lots of awards including the Critic's Choice award in the local paper both years it has been open in a 'brick and mortar' location.
