Accidentally used petroleum cleaner wax on PPF. OK or should I be "worried?"

A little bit of my XPEL PPF (2012-2014 year) had some hard water spots, so I used a cleaner wax which I stupidly later realized has petroleum in it, to clean said spots off. It worked like a charm, but now I'm concerned about whether I've prematurely damaged or worn my expensive film.

Anyone think this is cause for concern, or is one time not gonna change anything (although I did apply the wax a few times to get all the stains off)? Obviously it's a wax so the oils are on there, but I buffed off all the residue.

Any knowledge would be appreciated.

Does “XPEL PPF (2012-14)” mean that was the
time period in which the PPF was initially installed
and the warranty period began?

If so:
From what I can recollect...XPEL PPF (ca. 2012-14)
probably only had a 7 year Warranty. It appears
that the Warranty is now entering its homestretch.


Then, IMO:
If any damages should actually occur—starting
now; and going forward into the future—from
the misjudgment in using any “non-approved”
detailing products/chemicals...you may encounter
some difficulty in having said damages covered
by the Warranty.

Yeah exactly. It’s that “era” of wrap, is what I meant. Not so worried about warranty as I bought the car used. Just want to be sure I didn’t harm the material I guess.

You should be fine sir. It shouldn't damage the film.
