Hello,

Curious if anybody has used or knows about IGL Coatings IGL Coatings

I have seen a company promoting it as if its the next best thing but I have not see anybody on this forum talk about it? To me it looks like an average coating nothing special but I may be wrong?

Thanks

There are some authorized installers here on the forum, they'll chime in soon enough.

Pretty much an 'Authorized Installer Only' deal for their true coatings (Poly, Quartz, Quartz+, and Kenzo). The lower level (Poly and Quartz, dunno about Quartz+) are akin to quality consumer available products I'd guess; gave a sample of Quartz a try once next to a quality consumer available product and the consumer product met and in some areas exceeded in performance for me. Difference being cost of IGL Quartz, from what I could gather, was about 1/3 of consumer product if one is authorized to purchase. One thing I have found is that their kits are VERY complete, include everything one needs to complete the job except towels; very, very nice kits.

The consumer-available Premier spray sealant is very nice as well for a product of that nature, one of the best I have tried.

EcoCoat Premiere is loved on this forum as a topper or standalone 6 month spray.

They are very agressive on the marketing side. I know that for installers the advantage with their coatings is that they are supposed to be eco-friendly and not pose any health hazzard. They contacted me to become authorized but their coatings are not mobile friendly. You need a garage and theu require multiple layers and all that. Durability seems to be in the low range too... 2 to 4 years, so they are not competing with Optimum/Ceramic Pro/Gtechniq event if they require accreditation to install their products.

Maybe they are good, but why bother when you can get a 5 year coating from Gtechniq for less money and no need to pay accreditation?
