New Collinite quick detailer

My bottle of Collinite 520 Quick Detailer arrived yesterday. My car was already pretty clean, but had a few spots and an area just behind the driver front fender well where I had driven through a small puddle that needed cleaning. I used the Collinite 520 as a cleaner for those areas, and it did a good job. Didn't notice much gloss enhancement, nothing worth noting anyway, but it did a good job of cleaning those few small areas. I had used Griot's Speed Shine a few days earlier which is probably why I didn't notice any real gloss improvement. I'm uncertain as to any protection left behind at this point, but I'll have time in the future to see if that's the case. Overall, in the short term, I'm satisfied with the results, especially considering the cost was around $9.50 delivered after AGO's 25% off with free shipping deal they ran a week or so ago.

I received my 3 bottles from AG yesterday and surprised they didn’t come with sprayers .... I thought that was odd.

Seriously??

Wow, that would upset me to no end. :(

No sprayers - although the pic shows them with one. Not sure if AG just failed to include them? Did others also have no sprayer?

Has to be an oversight.

I'm sure AG will make this right.

I got a bottle of Tarx let’s say bottle is 12” tall. The sprayer and hose is 14” tall. Seems legit

At first, I thought the same thing. I had to dig through the box to find the sprayer, which was jumbled in with all of the packing paper. I only ordered one bottle, though, and since you ordered three it was most likely oversight on the part of the packer.

Just to follow up - Stephanie (from AG) emailed me and sent out the 3 sprayers. AG has excellent customer service - and this DOES make a difference. Well done AG - as always!

I tried it on my windshield when I got home from work, it apparently sprinkled on it. I think I used too much because I had to buff it...then again I recently applied Meg's HCW at the 6:1 ratio so that could've had more to to do with it. It's going to rain tomorrow so I'll get to see the water behavior on the windshield.

The behavior will be HCW topped with Collinite 520, correct? If so, can you compare to the HCW portion as well?

I did the entire windshield, so I can compare the front and rear window

There are a few first impressions in this thread (thank you all) and I'm hoping to see more thoughts and comments on what you all find from 520. I wasn't super impressed with the protection it leaves behind but was surprised by it's good cleaning ability. I'm wondering if others who haven't posted yet have seen this behavior too or found another way to use it that I haven't. The Collinite brand carries a lot of credibility with me but I haven't found the value in this particular product.

Ok, so I just checked my windshield, I mean its beading but the rear window is beading a lot more, so that #520 sounds like its more of a cleaner than something that leaves actual protection behind. I mean my windshield is beading but its nothing out of this world, so once again, making your own "quick detailer" is the way to go by using something high quality like N914 for instance.

To save me from reading multiple pages,
whats the synopsis? Average?
C’mon...Wait a minute!
What makes you think you can
get away with something like that?

And I haven’t even had a chance to
post-up my multi-page review yet...

So I now have two coats of 476s on the truck.

For science, I just went out and wiped down the front portion of the hood w 520. (It does clean very well as bofh mentioned).

Going to be pouring tomorrow morning through the afternoon, so I will post some pics of the difference (if any) tomorrow. (Same Bat time, same Bat channel.......... )

520 may be more of a cleaner than a protectant. Kind of the opposite of today’s popular QDs (BSD for instance). For this reason it seems people are having trouble finding a great use for it since we all use WWs like it pours from the sky.

I’m a huge Collinite fan and was hoping this would be a purdy, couple week protection QD at minimum. But I still love you Collinite (Go UTICA!!!)
