Ceramic Coating on single stage paint

I just finished wet sanding, cutting and polishing a 1968 Mercedes Benz 280 SE that has about a year old single stage paint.
I posted a thread asking help to choose a ceramic coating and thinking to apply it to this car.
Is it a good idea to apply it to a single stage pant? Is there anything different to appy it than to a base coat clear coat paint?
Does it give a same durability like to a base coat clear coat paint?
