New mid engine Corvette. July 18th.

well technically they have a backseat is what i meant haha

everyone has there own opinion. But I don't know about all of you I'm just waiting for one of my clients to get a hold of one so I can detail it lol

Like I said earlier, this is the only car I link to below that GM's produced in a good 20 years, that's impressed me with its styling, looks, engineering and all around beauty.

Even the C6 and C7 Vettes didn't do much to excite me in the looks department. In fact through the years, there were lots of "dog" corvettes, the mid 80's really comes to mind, God awful ugly IMO. GM's had some real crap designers through the years.

Me, I once owned one of the better Vette's, the 1967.

I have to agree, but I'd say GM designs have been lacking for more than 20 years. Nothing they've made has really excited me, which is a shame. I even owned a Pontiac during the 90's, but that was because it was all I could afford. I never liked anything about the car.

As for Vettes, I never really paid much attention to them until the C7. Something about the exterior design really struck me. Now that it's been on the road for an entire generation I've cooled quite a bit, but I do admit they still catch my attention the few times I see one. The interior never really grew on me, but I do acknowlege it's far better quality than previous generations. However I do like the gauges of the C6 much better.

Mark, you owned THE BEST Vette but I'm a little biased, LOL. It was a coupe, right

it's an entirely new platform, yet you bring back the Stingray name, its NOT a Stingray.

And it's not a Sting Ray or a small naval warship either ...

While I will always have a deep affection for the mid-year C2's, to proclaim them as the best ever is a stretch. Appearance-wise, the '63 Split Window is an all-time classic. But C2's are uncomfortable and esp. hot (w/out AC), have a harsh ride and lousy road manners above ~60MPH, body stress cracks and bonding seam issues can be a nightmare , have PITA headlight motors ... the list is long.

The rear clip has many ‘interpretations’
to choose from. Here are a couple on
a Ceramic Matrix Gray color scheme:

I have always been an admirer of the Corvette from afar. (I have always needed a truck, and no real funds for a toy).

As mentioned above, the model went through some real stinker years from the early-80's to 90's. But in whole, that entire era was filled with automotive dung across every make and model in my opinion.

I think this new 'Vette looks cool as hell.

No, mine was a convertible, and also had the smallblock engine, 327-350hp. White with Black Interior and Top.

I'm noticing from these pics shown so far, that I'm not seeing those weird side marker lights they stuck on the fender lips of the last Stingray.

To me, that looked pretty dumb, didn't like those at all on the car.

Once saw a prototype mock up of the last Stingray, it had a much nicer looking rear, and then they decided and went with the "Batmobile" look. Looks like that carried over, Ug!

This one too sort of looks Batmobile-ish. I'm sure there was another I seen.

Ooooh Bob, that middle colour looks interesting . . .

I dig the Ceramic Matrix Gray too but my favourite so far is the Orange . . .

I’m a ford guy...... but for me that’s a sexy beast. My only concern would me the plastics in the outside. In pics looks a little cheap.

Yeah, I've noticed that, a lot of black plastics cluttering up body lines, front and back. Usually on such exotica today, carbon fiber has been the material of choice.

With that said, I might suspect the best looking color on this car might be all black. Will help camouflage some of that black plastic all over.
