I unfortunately drew short straw. Mine arrived the other day. I spun it up with no load and the speed would oscillate. I switched cord but made no difference. It’s mist prevalent at speed 3 where you can hear feel a slight bump. It does all the same stuff loaded as well. Going to try and swap out the brushes. If that doesn’t work it’s back to griots.
In the recent past I’ve had a failed G9, a failed Adams SK micro, a broken shelf on my detail cart and now this. Can only go up from here.
Make sure that the cord is pushed in all the way. There are people finding out that it takes more force than what they thought for the cord to fully seat.
Just curious - The speed fluctuation is while polishing, or only with it unloaded in the air?
If only in the air I wonder if it's the digital speed controller trying to regulate RPM when it's expecting to need to overcome pad pressure.
It's been a couple months since I touched my G9 so I don't remember exactly what it was, but I remember the experience of cleaning pads via pad brush was different with the G9 than the GG6.
That's a good point you bring up, the tool running under load, versus no load?
Not sure what is incorporated inside these new 2 new machines from Griots, and whether they use such digital controllers as you say?
Does their manuals state such?

My G8 had the same problems. The speed oscillated up and down fairly dramatically on speeds 1-3. It sounded like an engine trying to rev up but not quite getting there, as if the power was intermittent. There also was a bump on speeds 2 and 3 that you could feel and hear. I called Griot's, and they're exchanging the polisher for a new one.
Hmmm. I emailed 12/22 again 12/27 called 12/31 received email with call tag 1/3 . Received response to original email on 1/6 Sent email expressing displeasure. 1/7 received email stating holiday makes for delays, sorry.
I would call customer service directly instead of emailing. I had a good experience that way. It speed things up if you've ordered directly from Griot's.
