Window cleaning question

So here’s the situation no matter what cleaner I use mckees,stoners, ipa, no matter what waffle weave towel,super expensive microfiber I use a 2 towel method one for cleaning and one for buffing the inside of the window and getting rid of any cleaner left on it, the problem is when drying the window the clothes/towels drag against the window even if its cold. I can’t smoothly wipe the window it’s like snatching on the window it’s a brand new car with 5k miles, what is going on, dried up window cleaner from previous?
 
this may be worth a shot (not for use on tinted windows)...

for general maintenance window cleaning i use a PFM for the first/initial pass and then a flat weave towel (the low nap side of microfiber towel will do) for the final buff. try not to use too much (saturate) glass cleaner as well..
 
you could try to clay the inside of the window if it is something that has been left of by the dealer. Good luck
 
A damp (water only, no cleaners) cotton terry cloth towel followed by a dry cotton terry cloth towel or two for final buffing. Works for me!
 
Sometimes a deep cleaned glass can be very grabby. The option after you test to clay it or use a glass polish if you don't have any tinted windows this is. You could apply a glass sealant even on the inside windows or a QD/spray wax that works for you on glass. Maybe even an anti-fog product could get you a smoother glass.

The extreme can be that you have a lot of outgasing plastic trim in the interior that get your glass grabby. Then it's not much to do than clean more often. And getting something on it so it gets easier to clean. Also when you are cleaning try to have nitrile gloves on you and you will get a better grip on the mf glass towel. This grabby happens for me when I use the no nap glass mf towels on the inside windows. And the nitrile gloves helps a lot and I also put the glass mf towel around one of those glass cleaning tools and get more power to wipe it on the glass.
 
Take two Zap Cloths and call me in the morning.........

All joking aside, give the Zap Cloths a try. :)
 
Zap Cloth followed up with a Griots glass towel.
 
Those are two cloths I plan to add to my arsenal. Streaky glass drives me nuts!

The "cleaner" a glass surface is, the higher its coefficient of friction. The flat weave glass towels are "grabby" and thus are great for pulling away dirt and grime from the glass surface during the cleaning stage of the process, but the other side of the coin is that that "grabbiness" (word ?) works against you when you are doing the final drying/buffing of the glass ... a "grabby" towel is really going to latch on to that clean glass since its (glass') coefficient of friction is now higher.
 
The grab comes from material choice. I never use a glass cleaner, other than denatured alcohol mixed down with water if I need to cut glass. Water is all I use, maybe a watered down ONR solution....but if you use a towel with a low nap, like a microfiber glass towel then that's my wet towel, just damp really, I then use a plush Korean made microfiber for final wipe and buff. My other method is a wet application while using a silicone squeegee to wipe away excess moisture, then buff dry.
 
Try some different towel choice or hit it with some spray wax.

I will revisit that squeegee method and dig my cotton towels out of their bin. Now that the humidity has subsided a bit here I expect to get much better results than I did in the summer.
 
So a cotton or terry towel would be a better choice then a mf or waffle weave?
 
I have both. My plan is to initially clean with the microfiber and follow up with the cotton if I’m still getting streaks I’ll do this as I wait for my zap cloths and glass PFMs. One of these combinations ought to yield the desired result.
 
Ordered some zap clothes and new eagle 500 edgless towels let’s see how this goes
 
So, I also have tried everything and most the time my windows come out great but lately I have had major issues! Pretty sure I lost a good customer over it. The window would look super clean then I would walk away and come back and it would be messed up again! I am pretty sure it was his tint but I could not get him to understand that! =/ I typically use a magic eraser and then go over it with damp cloth then follow up with a spray wax detailer. More often then not my windows are spotless!
 
The tinted windows are easy to clean it’s the front window that’s the problem every single rag I’ve used grabs, the edge less 500 rag is terrible and to fluffy, the carpro glass cleaning towel isn’t that good either, the zap cloth is decent.
