Mine happened earlier today a super vegan pushing her philosophy was just trumped by a Joe Redneck who vowed to eat double the meat for the next year just to make sure that the lady being vegan had no impact on whatever she was trying to impact. Ended in tears and then retaliatory fat joke and then more tears.

Love it.

Do whatever you want to do, but don't push your way of life on others.

On that note, I just picked up my Christmas 4-bone Prime Rib.

Take that, Kale muncher! ;)

So my father has an old but good one. He worked for 30 years as a UPS driver and this story is the reason that management was no longer involved in the UPS drivers parties. Story starts out in a hall where there are 50 drivers and 20 mechanics and logistics employees and 5 supervisors. Most had spouses with them. The holiday party Started at 7:00pm let’s say and 1 hour into party whiskey and shot are being served. After a few hours of whiskey drinking the quietest driver in the whole bunch, that never spoke a peep and was there 20 years started a back and forth with a supervisor. The truck driver didn’t like what the supervisor said popped up out of seat made a bee line for the supervisor. The supervisor did not see the guy coming. The dude grabs the supervisors tie drags him off his bar stool the whips out some kind off knife while the supervisor is on the floor with the truck driver holding the tie in one hand and the knife in the other hand while the supervisors on the floor. The truck driver guy reaches down and cuts the supervisors tie off at the knot and told the supervisor he’s been waiting 20 years to do it.
Guess after that management was not allowed at the Christmas parties but the truck driver had to go to work that Monday and the guy was his supervisor.

I always look for a 4 bone rib when they come on sale 2-3 times a year where I live @ about $5.something or other a pound, normally over $13+ per pound

Do you do the 5 minutes @500 degree for every pound deal??

I worked for 35 years @ a fortune 100 company ( not 500 ) and those cheap bysturdz never threw us nothing like that.

18 minutes per pound or an internal temp of 127 at removal (then sit for 15 minutes).

And it is CRUCIAL to let the roast come to almost room temp before cooking. :)

Yeah I screwed that first post up-- went back and fixed it

500 degrees for every pound?/ Who could cook that

Agh...
What’s a little typo amongst ‘work friends’?

Lol

But...... I do get the oven to 500 degrees, insert the roast, then immediately reduce to 350.

(I read these methods in the book "Joy of Cooking" about 30 years ago, and they have never failed me).

I also worked at a Fortune 100 company, for 20 years and no party ( in fact they offered to pay for dessert if you went, no one showed up); what a joke. I switched to another Fortune 100 company 14 years ago n have had great Christmas parties almost every year since switching.

Old owner of where I use to work comes up next to me (1st Christmas party) and sees a friend of mine and his girl in a pretty heated (drunk) argument.

He had a rule if you were to drunk to drive come talk to him or some other higher up and he’s get you a room at the hotel who’s ball room he rented out.

Well he ask me if everything is ok and I tell him yeah their fine she’s getting a cab home. He asks what about him and I reply your gettin him a room. He chuckles (already got him a room)

He asks me what about you? You need a room and I say no I’m fine. He then says well hell you need another drink then... I didn’t get a room but definitely got a ride home. Where he’s from you need a drink means your not gonna be able to walk!

Best guy I ever worked for. At a party with 100 people he’d give away like 10k in prizes. 1st prize was week off paid with tickets and lodging and spending money any where in the world! In 6 years I won a $50 gift card
