They just seem to fade away somewhat quickly . Gliss V2 is still doing good n top of the CQ UK 3 from last year but it's only accumulated 7500 miles since application. Maybe they just need more frequent and particular maintenance.

Gyeon really needs to sell Skin as a separate product...Syncro/Skin is galactically good right after application.

Those two appear about the same. If I asked you to determine which is which without knowing you would think they were the same.

Thanks for the update, glad to see one of my favorites CQUK is doing well, not surprised at all with the Adams Spray coating.

Loss of hydrophobics.

Drexler Ceramic (Base Coat + Top Coat) - this has turned into sheeting like Gyeon Mohs. Water lays flat on the surface. Seems like it is either an application issue or the top coat is indeed already degrading.

Adams UV Spray Coating - This showed signs of slowing down after the first wash. It has one of the worst self cleaning effects. Turning into sheeting.

Cquartz TiO2 - This has started to turn into sheeting and its water beading has started to become more oblong shape. I believe this is looking like an application error as I have experienced this to perform on par with CQUK 3.0 on my hood for the last 20 months. It is not the first time I see application inconsistencies with it. I am going to leave it for now but I am to the point where I will not be focusing too much on it and will include is with test #2 next year.

The remaining coatings seem to be doing fine.

Hi, I registered in this forum just because this post is very interesting :)

I'm interested in Drexler just because I can buy it easily on Amazon, but I discovered that it's just a rebranded chinese product so I'm afraid it won't be very good.

Anyway in your video it seems to work well, at least the base coat.

Great video, what a big test.

I'm in the UK and wondering about CQuartz, Kamikaze or SPS.

It's mainly to protect paintwork against the marring a Noah fully fitted cover might cause (I've got to use the cover, mainly for security).

I'd also like the best self cleaning. To make washing pre putting the cover on as quick as possible.

Just wondered what your thoughts would be on which is best?

Also, do you happen to know if SPS Graphene and ArtDeShine Graphene, are the same thing?

I have not used anything from the Kamikaze line. Our resident guru on that brand would be BudgetPlan. The other thing I can not comment on is how the coating is affected using a car cover. Coatings are still going to marr as they are not impervious forms of protection. You would want PPF if that is what you are after. But that comes with a price.

As as self cleaning the post I made a couple weeks ago. You won't be able to get your hands on SPS unless you are authorized so that rules that out for you.

I believe they are the same. Don't quote me on that because I have not looked into ArtDeShine.
 
I recorded this on April 29. 2020. At that point it had been 3 months. A majority of the coatings at this point are doing pretty well. What is interesting is that Gyeon Mohs has started to bead better the longer it cured. The 6 month update is right around the corner.

 
I have a 7 month update on the coatings. There has been a dramatic decrease in hydrophobic behavior on some of the coatings.

These coatings were heavily beat up during the 4th of july. The car sat outside with the illegal fireworks from the neighbor landing all over it. It sat on the car for a couple days before I washed it. This stained many of the coatings, although they were already water spotted.

Goes to show that lab claims are different than real world use.

Here is some text information on the coatings.


SPSGraphene – Has lost its hydrophobic behavior. Starting to sheet slow. I will probably call it done soon.
Gyeon Syncro – Surprisingly this has help up better this go around. It is still beading and sheeting at a good rate. The first time I used it, Skin was about done during this time frame.
CquartzTiO2 – This looks to be a coating application error so this has been rules out.
Adams UV Paint Coating – Has lost its hydrophobic behavior. Starting to sheet slow. I will probably call it done soon.
Jade Ice – Has lost its hydrophobic behavior. Starting to sheet slow. I will probably call it done soon.
Drexler Ceramic(Base Coat + Top Coat)– This is similar to TiO2 in an application error so ruling this one out as a competitor.
Shine Supply Beadlock Pro - This is a nice surprise. Has retained its performance rather well. Sheeting and beading nicely.
Jade Quartz – Started to show signs of losing it's hydrophobic behavior.
Adams Spray UV Coating - Failed within 3 months. Nothing noticeable on the surface at 7 months.
22ple Insanity – Brand new for 2020 and hyped by 22ple as being their best coating. It is surprisingly how poor it has held up. I will probably call it done soon.
22ple HPC - Surprised at how poorly this is also performing. I will probably call it done soon.
Gyeon Mohs –The water behavior got better as it cured. Hanging in there towards the top of the list.
IGL Quartz+ - Has lost its hydrophobic behavior. Starting to sheet slow. I will probably call it done soon.
Cquartz Lite - Has held up nicely up to this point at 7 months.
Gyeon CanCoat - Still hanging in at 7 month. Lost some of its hydrophobic performance.
Cquartz UK 3.0 - Has been haning in there as well. Fast water sheeting. Not the tightest water beading.
Drexler Ceramic Base Coat – Like Beadlock this has been a surprise in its performance.

Really good to see the performance of CQ lite and Cancoat are meeting/exceeding claims.

Is this a loss for the graphene crowd?

Yeah, would think that CQuartz 3.0 would hold up better than Lite.

Maybe Zymol or Adams will hold up better than SPS.
 
I may have missed it in there somewhere, but what type of car wash soap are you using? A ceramic or just a regular soap?

Yeah, I’ve actually yet to use any of the longer term semi permanent coatings, sticking mainly to the “lites” Cancoat, Mckees V1 and V2 Coating, Adams Ceramic and Turtle Wax HSSC.

I like that they apply easily, wipe off with minimal effort and offer outstanding performance.

Interested to see how the other graphene options hold up, I bought the Adams Graphene Spray so I can at least see how it stacks up to their other option.

I'm not a coating fan, (as everyone knows). But I have used them. (Thank you, Mike. :) )

But, I read everything Mike (Guz) posts about them.

If you need info on coatings, Mike is your man.
