i am in the process of doing a restoration on a 96 bronco. should be out of body shop in a couple weeks. painter will wet sand then rotary buff before i pick it up, then i will complete the buffing and polishing to remove anything he has left with the rotary,
That's actually a good approach. Let the painter, who is probably very experienced at this and KNOWS how much paint he sprayed onto the car do the sanding and initial cut.
i do have the boss system and buffer
If you have the BOSS polisher, either the 15mm or the 21mm, then you have a tool that is more than capable of removing the holograms leftover by the rotary step.
I'm then assuming you have the BOSS foam pads and BOSS compounds and polishes?
If so - these pads and chemicals are also more than enough to do the job.
I would start with a TEST SPOT on a flat surface like the hood. Following the sage advice to test the least aggressive product to get the job done, knowing the Finishing Sealant and the BLACK foam finishing pad are probably NOT going to be aggressive enough to do the job right the first time - I would then test the Perfecting Cream with either the yellow or orange foam BOSS pads. If this works repeat to the entire car.
If the Perfecting Cream is not removing 100% of the holograms, then test the Correcting Cream. Test it with the Orange BOSS foam pads. This should work. If it doesn't then my guess is either the paint is hard or the hologram swirls are deep or both.
Then test the Fast Correcting Cream with either the orange foam pad or the white foam pad. The white foam cutting pad is VERY SHARP - so if you end up using this you'll likely have to re-polish with the Perfecting Cream and either the yellow or black foam pads to perfect the paint.
Then wait for 30 days or however long your painter recommends and move onto the sealing step.
How many pads do you have?
