I tried IGL Renew F4 for the first time today

It is like Essence Plus. The difference being their make up with one being silica based one one being Graphene based. Well mostly polymer based as Graphene itself is expensive.

Any cut will be with whatever pad it is used with.

So this F4 is also meant to be applied on top of an older coating?

Thanks Joe. It's something I'm looking at because I try not to polish more than once every two years to save clearcoat. If someone needs their car re-polished or wants their car repolished after 6 month, then this seems to be a pretty good option.

There are some really good videos on this product on youtube posted by Brian with Apex Detail. In one of his videos, he measures the gloss with a gloss meter and he also measures how much clearcoat was removed. The increase in gloss was superb and the amount of clearcoat removed was very minimal. And the very tiny amount of clearcoat removed was probably more do to his pad, which I believe had a bit of cut to it. If you use a polishing pad with no cut, I don't think any clearcoat is removed at all.

I believe the IGL website said you can use renew f4 on top of an older coating. They recommend the combination of first applying F4, and then follow that by applying their SiO2-infused sealant IGL Premier. You do not want to use f4 before applying a coating as it would prevent the coating from adhering to the paint.

Yes that is it’s main purpose. It’s their version of Essence Plus.

If you listen closely Brian says it is abrasive which it is not. Any cut will be from a pad.

Looks really good, nice car. Pretty color! Post an update after Premier is applied.

Here's an update. Just got done applying the IGL Premier. Overall I love the gloss and look. I like that the Premier liquid is white in color so you can see it easily and spread it evenly. It didn't have the slickest feel as I was applying it, but it did buff off easily and revealed a great shine and gloss.

I allowed the Renew F4 to cure for 36 hours before applying the Premier. These pics were taken right after I applied the Premier, so the gloss may increase even more over the next 24 hours as the Premier cures.

Thanks, that’s what I thought originally, but went back read the description and saw nothing about applying on old coatings. I give up on my brain now. :dunno:
