Can anyone post before and after pics of black leather after cleaned?

I have black leather and I just use Meguiars APC, however I notice it leaves behind a white looking layer on it.

I know they sell specific products for leather, but man I’m curious how you all clean it, post pics of you want.

Last thing I want to do is detail a nice car and not do it right.

I don't have black leather but that white layer concerns me. I strictly use dedicated leather products:cleaners and conditioners on leather and never had a problem. FWIW I use Leather Master products.

I should take a pic, but it’s a white residue unless Dodge leather quality is lacking now.

Thanks Bill for your help. Anyone else?

I really like McKee’s 37 70/30 Leather Shampoo. Also had good experience with Leather Masters products but I like the McKee’s one better. Twice a year and your leather will always look new.

I religiously use Leather Masters’ products
to ”Clean and Protect” automotive leather(s).

Not too shabby from using LM for 13 years:

Colourlock for me for leather. APC's are not used on any interior in my case.

I rarely if ever use APC of even Meguiars D181 dedicated Leather Cleaner on black leather. I instead use Meguiars D180 Leather Cleaner & Conditioner. It provides just enough cleaning power while not running the risk of drying it out of leaving any kind of residue behind. If I find the need to use a dedicated cleaner 1st, then I’ve found Megs D114 Rinseless Wash Concentrate or Mckees N914 to work surprisingly well to clean black leather interiors without drying them out or leaving residue.

Here’s some pics after using Megs D180. When it comes to black leather I make the judgment call on the results, and this is what my customers get even if they’re so called matte people. I’ve never had any complaints. Lol.

Now on light tan leather like this Mercedes that I’m detailing today, it’s Megs D181 Leather Cleaner. But if I was out I wouldn’t hesitate to use Megs D101 @10:1

Do you still use coatings over or just this product? Also the cleaning and conditioning kit?

My 17 Ram black leather seats. My wife bought me the CG kit. The Meguiars has been around since having leather furniture. I have noticed after applying either of these products, absorption is minimal on my seats. I enjoy the sheen both produce.

Nope. I’ve gone away from leather coatings on my personal cars. Colourlock seems to do a better job of hydrating older leather. It may not last as long as a leather coating but that’s ok.

Roping leather protector with their leather shield is the way to go on older leather.

From this picture you can barely see it but the pores are filled with little white residue. But it’s not dark, leather is only 2 years. It’s a 2018 model regardless I like your results.
