Question for you guys who live in a blizzard..

Not quite a blizzard, LOL, but about 4-5" as of now The Blizzaks made quick work of things, as did the WeatherTechs

So jealous. It's only snowed twice here this winter and neither time was enough to even fully cover the grass. It's been more like a very long, cold Fall. Driest on record, if I remember. My Sottozero 3's which got a real workout last winter have barely seen rain this year, let alone snow.

I keep hoping for a at least a couple good snows before Spring arrives.

I get your point but still.....

I'm with Klasse Act and Weather Techs for optimum winter protection. I have them for the front seats for my wife's and my DD's. I really appreciate the full coverage from the raised door sills and edges on the other three sides. 99% of the snow, slush and salt dragged into the car is contained therein. They are easy to pull out and clean with diluted APC, scrub brush and hard spray. i recommend the purchase of the floor liner protectant to help maintain the look and feel (tackiness) of the original as you don't want your feet to slip or slide. The liners are custom to each car and snap into place and stay there (assuming you have original snap in carpets). Living in MI with 5-6" today is exhibit A for me on their value.

I may be a little unusual because I also us the manufacturers winter mats for the back seats, and all the way around in the other three seasons as necessary. During those months we have a second condo with a dirty gravel parking lot which introduces either dry dust and dirt, or wet grime/dirt when it rains. In those instances the regular winter mats are more than sufficient. And when we're home with good parking I use the regular carpeted mats from the manufacturer which I like as the best of all the options. Unfortunately I can only use them the equivalent of three months per year, with the "winter" mats and the Weather Tech mats shared equally over the remaining 9 months.

Agree 100% on the WT's with their raised sides. I like that they are laser fitting to each car. I had All Weather OEM mats on my Audi and their were times the snow hit the carpet. It's also nice to support a company that makes 'em right here in the USA.
I just bought their mat protectant, so I'll see how that goes.

You guys who have bought or are considering the WeatherTech floorliner protectant are really going to like how it brings the mats back to their original look. Once it dries, its NOT slippery one bit. I suggest buying the combo cleaner/protectant, it saves you a little bit of money when bought as a pair.

This company does EVERYTHING in house and I'm sure the owner is proud of his buildings, can't miss them on I-55 in Bolingbrook Illinois. This place is packed on the weekend and they have MANY other products for your ride, a real success story without a doubt!

The American made aspect of the WeatherTechs is what sold me initially.

I think mine were $119 back in 2012. (Regular Cab. Only 2 matts).

I believe the competitors product was around $85.

For something that will last basically as long as the vehicle, it was a no-brainer for me.

Imagine if we had all thought about this 40 years ago?? "Hey, the American made pack of T-shirts is $25 compared to $13.99 foreign made. But they are of better quality, and keep a fellow American employed...." :dunno:

Sounds like you bought a new snow blower, Nate.:laughing:

I agree Paul but how do you feel about foreign cars made here by U.S. workers and foreign made cars with traditional domestic name plates?

No right or wrong answer, just curious?

Global partnerships are inevitable for larger ticket items. Actually beneficial in some ways.

It's the little things (T-shirts like I mentioned), or just about anything in your house you can pick up, flip over, and see the "Made in China" that burns me.

Since you all brought up floor liners (Weather Tech) i have a question if any of you are familiar with Husky brand liners.

I didn’t do WT because the got bad reviews for the Camaros’s for fit. Didn’t go all the way back and something about covering dead pedal.

Husky had two lines X act fit and Weather beaters. The X act fit were more and also heavier but couldn’t find any more differences. Any of y’all know?

Edit: found a video. The X act are more pliable and rubber like. Weather beaters are stiffer. Doesn’t lay as well.

Although I've never bought the Husky liners a couple of buddies have bought them because they're cheaper and are happy with them. I believe they too are a U.S. company as well.

The reason the dead pedal is covered with WeatherTech floorliners is simple, if they cut out around them it would allow "crap" to get up under them and make a mess, so in this case its function over form

Ric, consider yourself lucky that you don't have to deal with this! I've been here 10 yrs and went through these Polar Vortexs TWICE!! The above one lasted 3 days in a row and when it reached above 0 you could feel the difference. Let that sink in, going slightly above zero is a DIFFERENCE.

Doppler Mazda showed its temp at the gas station that morning. It was a little below 1/2 and I filled it up and getting back into the car my pants were frozen and it stung my legs. The defroster in my work van couldn't keep up at a light, crazy days!

That’s crazy. The coldest it’s ever gotten here in LA [as far as I’ve ever seen] was 24yrs. ago I still remember exactly where I was... Getting up to be at work at 3am. I got in my Cadillac Eldorado and it said the outside temp. was 38 degrees. It never displayed that cold except that 1 day.

Funny story Ric, seriously

Biggest complaint on camaro forums was they only covered half of the pedal where the husky covered all. That plus them going all the way back were biggest complaint.

Guess stuff in bottom of foot would get under the WT. i don’t really use dead pedal but like that it went under the seat

Had weather-tech before and they were great.

The husky weather beaters were the same price as WT. The X act fits were ALOT more for a set ($60).

I just ordered the fronts because it seams the rears are reason for price jump. I don’t usually have people in reat (the don’t fit) but if i do need rears i’ll order WT as they are almost half price.

In the past year I’ve bought WT liners that go up the sides for an Acura TL, Toyota Sienna, and Toyota Prius and they’ve all fit perfectly front and back. I use them year around and I’m much happier with how the vehicles look. In my previous TL I used the Acura carpet mats and even though they felt well made, they would stain and also wear out, especially under my right heel in front of the gas pedal.
