Carpro Clarify - initial review

I know this is a little off subject but something that helps with a clean windshield (inside) is keeping your cabin filter replaced on a regular basis. K&N makes them now for select cars and carbon ones are also available

I haven’t used Carpro Clarify but I do like and have 5L of Sonax Glass. No problems out of it. Previously used Sprayaway and it was decent though streaked sometimes. Based on comments here, I guess it was due to humidity. But I don’t think I’ve really used Sprayaway since I got a bunch of the Cobra Waffle Weave Glass Microfiber towels, which I’m sure is part of the reason Sonax works so well.

Sprayway cleans well for me but I am left with streaks too often. I think the Zap cloth may eliminate them for me in my humid environment.

Follow any cleaner i’ve used eliminated streaks for me.

Just hoping to find a glass cleaner to avoid this step

I think I may have asked this in another thread with the Zap Cloth but couldn't find it when I searched -

Anyone using the Zap Cloth with glass cleaner instead of just water? I know it's whole thing is you're not supposed to need to use a cleaner with it, but it seems to me like it's magic is in the makeup of the towel not in some sort of treatment inside it.

If it finishes so well with just water, wouldn't using a glass cleaner instead help cut through that grime that makes it a 2 step process?

Just used my clarify. Cleaned well.

Now will drive tomorrow. Hopefully no streaks.

Ric, I took it upon myself to order some of The Gauntlet drying towels.

Those towels are great. The large size 1 isn’t really extra large, but still manages to dry a little CUV. And the wheel towel is outstanding. They both get thumbs up.

That’s correct, it’s the weave of the towel. There’s nothing in it. It’s sort of like the perfect version of a microfiber towel because if you think about it microfiber towels are supposed to be able to accomplish those same results with just plain water, but they’re too imperfect to do it flawlessly.. The Zap Cloth on the other hand is a towel with the perfect weave that can somehow do it.

I wouldn’t use the Zap Cloth with glass cleaner for a couple of reasons:
1. You’d wind up getting it really dirty [even though it doesn’t seem to affect it’s performance]
2. You’d probably induce streaks due to the glass cleaner being imperfect vs. plain water.

It really does produce perfect results with just plain water. Heck, it claims to be able to waterless wash an entire car with just plain water, and I believe it. Whether or not it’ll be completely swirl free afterwards is another question, but no doubt it’ll be clean and look good from 20’ away.

Just to "Clarify", my bottle comes in today, along with a pair of Gaunlet towels

I hope Clarify cuts through oil with ease because I got some on my glass fron my lift that ordinary glass cleaner can't seem to fully remove.

Why don’t you try a Magic Eraser?

I'm about to as soon as I go to the store at lunch time

They (magic erasers) also come in sheets now. I didn't think it would be that much difference but it did make it easier to get the base of the windshield.

Hey Ric, just to "clarify" (couldn't help myself), I'm not using the Gauntlet towels for cleaning glass, just to dry the car

That’s right, I’m not using them for glass either, I use the large 1 to dry the vehicle and the small wheel towel with Mothers All Chrome as a final touch for my chrome wheels. They turn out perfect after that last step.

So I have to give Clarify a across the board! I cleaned the windows inside and out this morning when the car was dirty and they came out great! I'm not one of those "smell guys" but I've never used a glass cleaner that smelled like fruit!!

I also cleaned the windows after doing a Feynlab RW tonight as well and look forward to "seeing into the future" on my way to work Because of its price I'm going to use it here and there. I will continue to use DG glass cleaner and their Rain Repellent glass cleaner as well but there's another product waiting to step in and just to "clarify" it's from CarPro

Get some humidity going… Leave your AC off for a day, it’s ok you’ll survive. Then check if you see any streaks.

Florida is home to humidity and therefore streaks.

I haven’t used AC but we also don’t get alot of humidity. Raining right now so will be humid on way home.
