Since I am new to most of this stuff please bear with me. I recently bought some plush MF and glass cleaning MF from AG. Using the plush towel after drying off my truck (wringing it out) wiped down the glass and dried/polished it with the glass waffle weave. WOW ! It was almost invisible. Ran up and did the picture windows of the house inside and out, same result ! So the question is : Does anybody use just plain or distilled water with the waffle glass MF or do you still use a "glass cleaner" ?

Cheers

Depends on how bad the glass is. I use Stoners Invisible Glass, Surf City glass cleaner, and a home brew of denatured alcohol, vinegar, and distilled water. You'll probably get alot of different opinions on what's best, many prefer Sprayway. As for your MFs - wash the glass towels separately from the others so they don't get contaminated with polishe, waxes, QDs, etc.

Just glass cleaner and the glass WW here.

I agree with PTRon on washing glass towels separately.

For an OTC product, I like Stoners in the pump bottle or Hopes Perfect Glass.

And I agree also, wash your MF's separate.

Thanks for the tip about washing the glass towels seperately.
I have some of the Stoners foam glass cleaner, JUst hard to believe how well plain water worked !

If you want a very cheap but very effective glass cleaner, I have been told ONR at QD strength with a small amount of denatured alcohol (I assume ISA will work) is great at cleaning glass.

Interesting tip Bert31, thanks, I just got some ONR and will try it !

Never added the IPA but ONR at just QD strength is a pretty damn good glass cleaner - it also makes for a fantastic interior QD for trim (dash, door panels etc)

Best Glass Cleaner on AG is Surf City.. Hands down in my book!

I thought the same thing about ONR as a glass cleaner but if it does not remove wax, etc, then it seems learly is limited to what it can clean. ONR does not seem to do well on greasy stains like on stuff that gets on wheels.

Hopes Perfect Glass here too. Works great, excellent price, and I can pick it up at Lowes or Home Depot.

Invisible Glass or Sprayway .... always works for me, the prize is in the MF WW towel.

Thanks for all the tips. Seems like the MF WW is 90% and whatever you like the other 10% . I have used Meg's QD and clay bar with a terry towel and got very good results.

My personal favorite is Meguiar's Glass Cleaner Concentrate. Very cheap, and simply put; it works.

However, I do not really use glass cleaner anymore. Rather, what I do is wax the windows with my preferred wax, than just maintain the glass as I would the paint, so water tends to not stay on the glass. I do a final dry buff on the glass with a specific glass towels that I buy for $1/towel and those take away any streaks left, if any. I find they work wonders on the inside haze. With this method, my glass always stays 100% streak free, and doesn't take any extra time to maintain (or additional cost over maintaining the paint).

The I have been without my cleaner a few times but had ONR QD strength in thte car and it worked fine (no IPA)... granted this was on my personal vehicle and the windows were not "filthy"

On the outside, I use the 1Z Einszett Glas Polish. On the inside of the windshield, I use Stoners.

I don't use any pure glass cleaner, I prefer to use my favourite quick detailer/spray sealant for that
It's like cordial. just dilute it to whatever strength you want.

Invisible glass is the best. Really cheap if you order a 5 gallon pail direct from Stoner.

I know IG is good for Tinted windows, but any of the other good ??? for tinted windows ??
