Ok, so I admit I haven't tried all that many products for a WW wash and maintenance but here's what I like - if my car isn't too dirty. If it is then it's a RW (Griot's Brilliant Rinseless) or a 2 bucket (Gyeon Bathe/Reset) if more than moderately dirty.

I have been quite satisfied with Ultima's WW - very slick and smooth. But lately when I was looking at a quick detailer, I bought a bottle of Fictech's "Spraint" and gave that a go and thought it worked as well or better than any QDs I have used. But a look at the reviews for Spraint indicated that it is as much a WW wash as a QD, so I gave it a go as that. Like most WWs or QDs, goes on easily, no streaking. Leaves the surface with a nice deep gloss. Longevity? Ah, I'm sure no better than any other QD out there, so that's not a concern. Damn thing about Spraint is that the reviews/warning about the scent were spot on. Smells like a cheap cologne from the 70's. What were they thinking?

I will go back and forth between Ultima WW and Spraint for a WW, but keep using Spraint as my QD of choice.....until I get the urge to try somethin' else. Microfibers? Wiping off with Griot's PFM, followed by their Plush Edgeless towels for the final buffing. I'm not saying this is better than anyone else's regiment, all I'm saying is it works well for me.

I thought about using a Waterless Wash in the engine bay to clean it. I used the Griot's Rinseless Wash and it worked very well.

Surely to goodness it’s
not really “Spraint”!!

:wowwow:

LOL. FICTECH SPRINT QUICK DETAIL SPRAY

I had to read your original post again because I missed the Fictech the first time. I was looking up “Spraint” but couldn’t find anything. Then I see Bob’s post and if he says it ain’t Spraint then I know I need to go back and re read. LOL

Guys, good catch. But, I mentioned that it was Fictech's detail spray and I misspelled the name that is on the bottle - just going off bad memory. It's not SPRAINT, but rather SPAINT - that is exactly what's on the bottle. Yeah, just figured, it's some crazy named that kind of works off the word "paint." I can't post a picture of link as this is not a product sold on AG.

Good lord, so now I'm totally confused. Is it Sprint, Spinkel or SiSplash? I don't see any Spaint on their website. Sprint is their detail spray. Change the A to R and Spaint becomes Sprint. :dunno:

It's SPAINT that's on the bottle - look closer. Maybe it's a translation error on Fictech's part. But I'm betting the newer bottles will correct to SPRINT. Either way, it works well.

Yep. I’m seeing the detailing ww spray as “Sprint” and one with carnauba as “Sprint Coat.” And I like the carnauba. I would bet it is pretty good stuf but how many products do we have in this category? They just seem to get loss in the options.

Dennis, Dang if you ain't right. I knew I should have looked more closely with my new readers! Thanks.

Not your fault, they used a confusing font on the bottle. I remember you from Audiworld. You owned a Gotland Green B9 A4 Allroad if I'm not mistaken. I used to have a B9 A4 sedan.

Yep, that was me. I do like my CX-5, but if I could go back 7 months, given more thought, I would and should not have traded that Allroad.

I feel more comfortable using a rinseless wash since more fluid is flushing the surface.
