I only skimmed the most recent pages on this thread and started reading it in whole.

Duragloss. What a throwback name. I used to love the shampoo. Same like Griots...
Griots got watered down. I wonder about DG

Anyhow, these enablers here has got 253 in a shopping cart now.
Haven't used it in ages and not a decent life, but even today, I still always like how Z16 was on rubber
 
I’ve been playing with a couple of Tire Dressings and applicators…
So far both of these have been test driven on two daily drivers in Colorado snow and sun for the past two weeks.

On a side note I repurposed a cheap SPTA Car Wax Handle Applicator and microfiber Pad to apply Tire dressings easily

So far, quite happy with it I only applied one layer and it has a nice semi-gloss sheen which I prefer(black without greasy gloss), seems to dry so the tire looks dressed without an oily transfer when brushed up against.

We got a bunch of snow here so I’ll get a decent feel for how it holds up to some wet and sloppy roads…

Please let us know how it goes. Thinking of getting a more durable tire dressing/sealant/coating.

Another 10 days (3 1/2 weeks) of sloppy snow with a short reprieve where I was able to clean the car with Darkside applied to tires. After a light scrub with a detail factory tire brush to remove dirt and grime the tires still have its same low gloss appearance, color me impressed… Upon close inspection they still look dressed but maybe showing signs of beginning to “fade” .

I had a similar experience as well. I’ll try it in different sets of tires but it doesn’t last much/any longer than DG253 and is harder to apply so it won’t be taking over as my primary tire dressing.

How do you find it more difficult to apply? As with any new tire dressing I just did a deep clean of the tire as I do anytime when I’m applying a new product to ensure it “bonds” as well as possible. Which means scrubbing with a stiff(blue) drill brush and a rubber cleaner (CarPro ReTyre), rinse and dry then apply TWHSGATSSC to an applicator, apply to tire and let sit and then level with the same applicator. The prep is the time consuming process, applying wasn’t any different than any other spray and wipe type of product…

What you are doing is correct and generally always leads to an easier product application.

In terms of Darkside application, I can say that its oiler consistency needs more rubbing/working to get it to produce an even finish. That doesn't mean it's a bad product, just different.

I have tried some of the thicker tire dressings such as Gyeon Tire and using an applicator is more time consuming than using a flag-tipped brush, which is what I use with DG253. Just spray on the brush, apply with a few revolutions, and then done. No need to wipe to remove excess or try to get an even appearance. Now if there was a dressing that had significantly better durability (and secondarily appearance) then I’d deal with the more involved application. But for now, DG253 is still my go to.
 
For those that run 3 season / 1 season shoes.

I hate this time of the year.
Bit of a grey area in tire choice
Morning' Late Evening a bit too cold un-predictably if a really cold snap that make the rubber compound hockey pucks.
However, however being the key word, daytime temps is warm enough that I'm driving on Gummi Bears.
Just dropped off new wheels@ shop new rubber, which spurned this post
 
Thought for $6 to give it a shot!
On the rich side which is fine. Hope it lasts!

Coating after thorough cleaning (white suds).

Tuf shine or OPT Tire Coat.

Wash car weekly for 4-6 months and blow dry tire sidewalls!
