Electric cars...neutering gearheads and freedom, HOW DID WE GET HERE!

So if we say we can’t save the world, then that must mean we can’t destroy it. With nuclear weapons and no regard for natural resources, I disagree wholeheartedly. We were given free will and intelligence and both must be leveraged to obtain balance. If we aren’t worthy of the planet we’re given, God and the planet will just start again but humans may not be a part of the ecosystem.
•Disagree all you want; but:
-No, we can’t save the world.
-And, No, we can’t destroy the world

•Only God can save the world.
-And He’s already promised not
to do so.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
•When God destroys this evil-infested
Planet, He will also be destroying all
the heavens above (Universe).
-There will be a new heaven; and a
new Earth. I pray every day to be
part of all that upcoming newness.
I was in high school when I was told the hole in the ozone would kill us in 20 yrs, I've survived pretty y well the past 13 yrs, how you guys doing? I also remember it being called Global warming and now it's "climate change". Throw enough sh!t at the wall and see what sticks or even better, say it enough times and people will believe it
I'm a simple man so keep this mind, would balance be gas AND electric As far as nukes go, some weapons KEEP THE PEACE!
In my mind, nature craves balance. It is the human race that appears incapable of balance in all its various forms. I for one would love some balance in politics because both sides are wrong on many things and right on few things.
I do believe there is a place for EV. There is a place for traditional gasoline powered vehicles as well. EV are great as a city car but if one resides in a rural area.... good luck with that. IMO... driving an EV is like being in a clean room. It just doesnt feel natural to me. When I drive my fun car, I enjoy all the sights and sounds of a traditional gas engine provides. As a daily commuter to and from work or short trips around town.... an EV can be very relaxing.
The elephant in the room that no one wants to address is this... What are we doing with all the old EV batteries?? If all vehicles are EVs then a time will come when we would have an environmental crisis on our hands with these batteries. Are we going to treat them like toxic waste...which they are. I guess we can try to recycle them but we dont currently has a efficient way of doing it. The energy requires to recycle them may require an even greater carbon foot print on the planet and I didn't even bring up the dangerous chemicals and its byproducts it takes to do this.
I have issues in general with any government picking and choosing winners and losers in the public sectors without having a plan for the consequences. I think we should have both and these politicians should let the market place dictate renovations and advances. The tail shouldnt wag the dog.
Great question. There is a lot of research going on as we speak. Basically batteries can either be disposed of, recycled, or reused. This article does a good job of going over the challenges of each of these. A great potential use of older EV batteries is to give them a second life and use them as part of energy storage systems.
Disposed of shouldn't be an option IMO
This reminds me of a Chinese parable where a village has a mice problem. They brought in cats to deal with the mice. Mice problem got resolved but now there had an over population of cats and it became a problem. They brought in dogs to scare the cats away then the dogs became a problem. They brought in a tiger to deal with the dogs then the tiger became a problem and in comes the elephant......
On the heels of this, how do we get rid of the politicians and hack scientists
For starter.... Dont ever put them on a pedestal. They are human just like everyone else and we all have faults and limitations. Trust but verify.
#2 Whenever you hear any of them say " we are doing this for the children"..... start bringing out the shovels. Its going to be a huge pile.
#3 Term limits... No one should be in politics for decades.
#4 Lawyers should be banned from holding public offices... this would cut down on the double talks and spins. no disrespect to lawyers.
#5 A public office holder's net worth cannot be exponentially more coming out then before going in.
Point #2 requires something from Catapiller if we're being honest
Are you crazy? Have you looked at the Tesla Model S Plaid? 0-60 in under 2 seconds. Have you looked at the Zombie 222 Mustang or the Cobrajet Mustang? I think the only thing neutered is your definition of what a gearhead could be.
An electric car has no soul at all and I couldn't give a rats ass how fast it is, speed isn't the only thing. I think you should come up with a new term for electric performance car fans because gearhead doesn't fit one bit without ICE
I’d rather talk about cars than politician’s inability to compromise or their inability to start something instead of not doing anything because we have to have perfection or nothing.
I get that, I just don’t see that gearheads or freedom are neutered with electrics. They’re just different.
Well when you take something away that people want and replace it with something everybody DOESNT want I'd say your losing some freedom
