I have used many waxes ect in my 60 years. To each his own. We all have favorites. I have to say that the BF si02 is the best I've ever used for gloss but most importantly water beading. My 21 year old Mustang with factory paint looks great and at 25 mph the water beads are running like they are fleeing Godzilla. Best I've ever seen. Longevity, not sure about, bc i spray after each wash. Incredible and highly recommended. Pictures later today.

Blackfire SI02 for me. Now to use up that Autogeek gallon.

I love the stuff, but I’ve gone to 3O3 graphene because the SIo2 is so expensive. I was a huge blackfire crystal seal addict and the gloss off the SIO2 is just as good.
 
my favorite's are Blackfire One Step and the SIO2 sealant....also use blackfire midnight sun carnuba paste wax...great products

So did you cut it and then use it as a quick detailer/drying aide?

Of course you’re getting great beading if you’re putting on a sealant after every wash. You don’t need to be doing that with blackfire Si02. It is a spray sealant not a drying agent, or a quick detailer. That’s an incredible waste of the product. One complete application of SI02 should last at least a couple months.

That was my thoughts as well. And i would hope bf si02 would last atleast a couple months longer than 2 months.

Ive never heard of anyone trying to cut a si02 spray into a qd or drying aide...thats why i asked that. Was curious, ya never know. Some ppl like to test out custom concoctions lol

I would cut one of the Hydro water triggered SIo2 products rather than the blackfire product. Cutting something like wet coat or Maguires Hydro ceramic wax I think would work better because they’re already triggered and activated by water. I did cut some Maguires Hydro ceramic wax into a QD about a year ago, it was fine.
 
He has a gallon. Could use after every wash and it’ll last him 5 years.....

Everyones right though. No need to apply so much. I’d cut it back to monthly.

If you are happy with the results, then that is all that matters. Period. :)
 
This thread led me to an interesting discovery. I don't think Blackfire actually makes a QD spray. Did I miss it somewhere on their product page? They have dozens of different products, but I don't see a QD. I don't really see anything a Blackfire fan could use if they didn't want to continuously add sealant each week.

I liked the look of the older Blackfire sealant products and haven't tried any of the newer ones since I started using coatings. However, I wouldn't mind a Blackfire QD for occasional touch-up cleanings and adding a little "something" to the shine as part of my drying routine. The SiO2 sealant has no cleaning properties and would be overkill for my uses.

Blackfire offers the Blackfire Instant Detailer and the Blackfire Matte Detail Spray for flat matte finishes.

Ugh. How did I miss that.... I saw the one for matte surfaces, but not the other. The matte product caught my eye because I use a matte QD on my auto racing helmet and my bicycle.

How would the Instant Detailer do on a coating? Waxes are beautiful, but I don't want to loose the properties of my coatings and typically stick to coating specific QD's like ECH2O and Elixr.

IMO it would be better to use a "Quick Detailer" designed to work with ceramic coatings. The CarPro EliXir is an excellent product.

Not at all. If you are happy then keep using it and don't mind others thinking you are wasting product or any such comments. You have a gallon of it and even if used as a drying aid the gallon will last you a long time.

Blackfire coating booster.....worth it as a qd? Was thinking about trying elixir but this is much cheaper

I was not impressed by the Blackfire or Wolfgang coating boosters and wouldn't use them as drying aids or as a QD. They have no cleaning ability.

The Blackfire made no change at all to the surface when I applied it. No improvement in gloss, no change in surface feel, and no change in water behavior on the surface. It was easy to apply despite not doing anything I could observe. The Wolfgang did improve gloss, feel, and a minor improvement in water behavior, but it was really grabby and hard to apply.

Thanks for the info. Cleaning ability is not really a conern for me as im looking to use it simply after a handwash and blow dry to remove a few if any water spots as two of our vehicles are black and sometimes can't blow dry it quick enough.

I want something that is made specifically for coatings
