Griots Garage ceramic glass cleaner

Application is no a strong suit of any of the Griots products. CSS definitely needs more elbow grease than regular speed shine.

Their are definitely alot of Sio2 sealants that apply easier than 3-1. People seem to have problems removing the glass cleaner. The all seem to be a bit tacky.

If your gonna use on glass though this is half the price of CSS. Makes more sense. Of the 3 I find CSS the least impressive due to price.

The only reason I would recommend would be if you used 3-1 as your LSP.

3-1 is the best of the bunch and for inexpensive Sio2 sealant class (under $30) i find it is a great sheeter and mediocre beading with solid longevity. It’s family members have potential but there warts also.

Hopefully the krinkle towels help for removing.

So tried this with the Griots Crinkle glass towels…..

1st vehicle got foamed with Bit Hamber AF and then a waterless with Ech20. This hadn’t been washed in 3-4 weeks and still had brine on it from what ever the use to melt the Snow in WA.

I did foam rinse and then Ech20 windows. The still had a filim on them so was just gonna hit them with Clarify and a normal glass towel and then i remembered i still had yet to use theses towels.

GCG cleaner normally is grabby and is ok at cleaning.

Wasn’t expecting much. Towels glided over glass and film was removed to my surprise.

Did all glass crinkle side and then followed up smooth side. Like butter.

Wasn’t gonna do inside but decided to after this experience. Again like butter.

I thought maybe my great experience was to due to pre cleaning ……decided to clean a window on the Camaro as it hadn’t been washed in 10 days and sit outside the last 7 at the dealership.

Same thing. No grabbiness and a clean and protected window.

Haven’t used CarPro’s GT but this towel is FAR superior to anything that I have used and better rhan there standard glass PFM.

I believe these towels will be to glass what regular PFM’s were to paint…… GAMECHANGER!

Guess I’ll have to pick up some Griot’s CGTs to go with the CGC. Thanks for the review!

Glad to see it wasn't just me. Only thing that isn't great versus the PFM dual weave is that they're thin so they get saturated pretty easily but you can refold them and use a different part of the towel if need be.

I got around a whole car inside out with just 1. Was getting late though, maybe smears i couldn’t see.

So i don’t think i’ve re applied or topped up since stRting this thread and stuffs performing pretty well.

I only applied to passenger side window of the camaro when testing the crinkle on the Rav4.

Pretty impressed it’s still there. 2months later

I just had a chance to see the sheeting action of GGCGC yesterday as I didn’t use my wipers leaving the neighborhood and as I got up to 40 or so, the water sheeted right off the windshield and side window. Pretty impressive, especially for the ease of application. It is better than the BF GlassPro Costing I used on several vehicles where I did tons of prep prior and multiple ways of preparing to get a better result but no dice.

Now to get those Crinkle towels you’ve been gushing about. :)

I purchased some "crinkles" last fall at a show and have been happy with them. They were giving out samples of the ceramic glass cleaner at an auction last week. I'm liking that too... very smooth.

Yeah it was grabby with their old glass PFM’s but the s and the towels work well together

I almost forgot about those tiny PFM glass towels. Too small, my hand rolled off them. I now use them for spot bird dropping pickup towels.

I picked up a can today. I'd like to use it today being it's 60F, with snow in the forecast tomorrow. I was thinking of applying it to pre-cleaned glass using a rectangular mf coating applicator, then buffing off with an edgeless 360 towel. I also have waffle weave glass towels from TRC I could use.

People have stated that GGCGC isn’t a strong cleaner so pre-cleaned glass sounds good. I applied it when it was a little over 50 and it worked well after I had done a rinseless wash. I used Cobra waffle weave microfiber towels and it worked great.

I did a Frothe wash the other day and used GGCGC to clean the glass so a little more dirt than after a rinseless I’d assume. No issues. Glass cleaned up great, almost perfect.

I left the neighborhood after a rain and didn’t turn on the wipers so I could see how well water rolls off the windshield and it did well. All the water flew off around 40. For ease of application, it seems to work great so far.

I used P21s Paintwork Cleanser then OPT Paint Prep to remove any remaining oils/fillers. Applied Ceramic Glass Cleaner using a rectangular coating applicator just to try it that way. Buffed off with a waffle weave. Worked very well. Probably try their glass sealant next.

I’m not a fan of there glass sealant. All the work to apply and it doesn’t work any better than the Ceramic glass cleaner.

This is a fact proved by Scott HD's glass sealant test...I was surprised how bad it was

I'm surprised. Apex did a test and seemed decent.

Do you have a link? I looked through all 5 years worth of his videos twice I see nothing related to this test

4 carwashes is a test?...I'm a BIG fan of Griots products, but this is one product I'll pass on.
Never been a fan of Apex tests...he rushes thing and never does durable tests over time......TIME.......TIME.......TIME.....is how to test

I really wanted to like this product but I am disappointed. I have many Griots products in my arsenal and I am generally a big fan. I have used their glass polishing and coating products of my vehicles and have been very happy with the results. I used the ceramic glass cleaner on the wife's Buick and I heard complaints after she drove home at night while it was raining. It left terrible streaks when she used the wipers to the point where she could not see. I ended up cleaning the glass with 0000 steel wool and I reapplied the Griots glass coating. Mama is happy now.
