Hey Mike Matt here from Finishing Touch Detail in Chicago. I have a customer call me today and said he has a 24' Haulmark car trailer in Matte black. He wants detailed. told me it has the typical streak going down the side. I had people tell me don't touch it! Told me you cant rubber or buff it you'll screw it up!!! So how would you detail it and what would you use. Don't what to screw up he's 29k trailer Thanks!!!!

Welcome Matt!

I don’t have any experience but this has come up before. If you polish matte, it will no longer be matte, so there really isn’t a way to do correction and keep the same sheen.

Dr. Beasley’s has a line of matte products but notice what you don’t see, any polishes for matte.

And here’s a post from AGO that pretty much says the same thing I already have. If they want the finish to be corrected, they will have to live with the new sheen and it won’t be matte.
Matte paint correction - is it possible without repainting?
