Cancoat evo bad experience or not?

Rick100, I don’t doubt you’re having issues and I’m not sure what the issue is but the start of your second paragraph confused me. CanCoat is one of the quickest coatings to apply because it is a wipe-on/sipe-off product. What are you doing that it took you awhile to apply to the entire hood?

Maybe take a look at Esoteric’s application videos since I know they use a hood application in their videos.

when i said a while i meant that i did small sections as recommended. As opposed to half the hood like i did with pure ceramic coating. I ve applied so many products in the past 5 years from real coatings to lite coatings, paste waxes, liquid waxes, ceramic sealants, quick detailers .. i have even play with graphene on one car.

I had some issues but never once i had a product as finicky as cancoat… i much rather apply a full blown out 3 year ceramic coating than this. This is my third time all with different application methods , this time the results were a bit better but i dont see myself using this product on a whole car.

my brother just tried applying it on the trunk of my dads civic a moment ago to see and samething , you can still see some very minor darker spots.

maybe i got a defective bottle . This is probably the top wasted money on a product moment for me

On the other hand my griots da polisher broke today too . At least i was done the correction . Damn bad luck lately

I would see if you could get a replacement for CanCoat because overall it gets good reviews and has for several years. I would much more believe that you got a bad bottle since it is pretty easy to install and you have experience. And I’d only suggest not to give up because I’ve used it personally and have been happy with it. But if you’d rather use CQuartz Lite instead, that is a good call too.

yea I dont see cancoat being this bad , I meant this is my third try with this product with different methods and I have experience with ceramic coatings. Its going to be pretty hard to get an exchange product .
Its ok , but if someone wants it and its around toronto , come pick it up .

Carpro lite was much much better and easier to apply, the coating itself its a bit grabby , but its very forgiven . I was looking for something more slick

Having said that I think that I m actually done with ceramic coatings, I m liking car pro gliss as a standalone coating right now. Easy to apply, no need to throw my microfiber towels away , it calls for a year protection. Slick , durable. I have it on the hood of my audi and zero water spotting so far, excellent self cleaning and hydrophobic properties. Durability still to be determined In my area and driving conditions . But if I can get six months out of this product , i ll be sold

Sounds like your either applying too much or letting it sit too long on the surface before removing. CanCoat is so easy to work with. The video I have posted on here goes over both applications.

I knocked out my brothers in 10-15 mins with CanCoat Evo.

Just want to say thank you, your video helped me use Can Coat for the first time. :xyxthumbs:

When CanCoat starts to fail, do you have to remove it with a polisher before re-applying? That is the one thing that keeps me away from any of the different types of coatings out there.

I just asked this question and from Gyeon and per responses on AG, no you don't. Just do a full decontamination and spray with a panel wipe (Prep) and re-apply.

I think this is a great recommendation. @Azure since your just reapplying Cancoat over Cancoat, you'll essentially be filling in the weaker voids with new fresh layers. The areas that are stronger will probably just repel itself to an extent. Over time those areas will wear down and you'll do the same thing by refreshing those weak points with a new layer of Cancoat, continuing the cycle perpetually. That's the advantage of using a convenient wipe one/wipe off product like this is that it takes very little effort to re-fortify the coating.

Glad you got your answer. With no notifications these days it’s hard to know who quotes who.

It's not just with TapaTalk though, I have not received notifications for months now.

Did a wash last night and Can Coat (original) is beading like day one after 5 months.

Thanks all. :xyxthumbs: I think CanCoat sounds like it's going to work well for me, especially given the new Evo version. It'll be interesting to see how it works with the drying aid I am currently using. I can't remember the name lol. It's the same as OG uses, but has a pink color. Also, sounds like it will work with ECH20, another product that I am wanting to try.

I think you'll be happy with Can Coat. For someone like myself that has only used regular Sio2 sealants, it's kind of weird when you're at month 5 and the beading is like day one.

Yeah I only use TapaTalk and now I get all notifications.

Are you using Autogeek app or website? If app maybe try same process?

I tend to do all of my forum posting from my PC and websites rather than apps.

Extreme Solutions Topper?

That's it! I bought it when he started talking about it on one of his Hex membership videos and have been using it since. I've got about a half-gallon left LOL.
