I was curious on the norm here, sometimes I do and sometimes I didn't

Just got a bunch of new Rag Company MFs too

I always do. Then I inspect very well after they are dried. I have found contaminants in the past.

UH--yeah

Do you wash new underwear before you slide them over the family jewels?

What soap do you all use. I have been using Persil (Pro clean)
Persil is an amazing soap. Has gotten out many stains oitta clothes just by spot soaking. We save that soap for clothes though.

I use 3D towel kleen. Dedicated for microfibers

always wash first before using, there's no telling what it's been exposed to from being made, to being transported, and then finally receiving them..

Always good practice to wash brand new towels prior to their first use. Probably less important on packaged towels, but still worth doing.

Rags to Riches has been my go-to towel cleaner for a while now.

Ummm. I don’t. Good inspection and if they look/feel good to go I use them.

I have used 3D Towel clean, P&S R2R, Mckee’s MF wash and Griots MF and pad wash.

The R2R is nice and good for a thorough soak on old towels.

Griots is probably my favorite. The recommend 50/50 with free and clear detergent.

Idea was Detergent will get out dirt and grime and MF wash will get out polish and LSP’s.

I also like that Griots recommends washing on hot.

I do the 50/50 routine as well; 2 oz of Free and Clear and 2 oz of Micro-Restore if it's a full load of towels, mitts, etc

I will probably try RTR next time around

I used Woolite for years and I think that it is still a good choice

I rinse with white vinegar as well and I NEVER use fabric softeners or dryer sheets for any of our laundry

I inspect all my new towels and am I not so much worried about contamination although I have found loose threads and a few other stray bits in the past

I wash mine because the packaging they usually comes in makes them compressed and lifeless, especially anything plush, and washing and drying really fluffs them up and brings them to life

Just part of my OCD I guess...

Sometimes it depends if i going to polish soon mostly. My car is easy to correct and easy to uncorrect. :) I don't even worry about a few swirls anymore i just want her to pop. And she does after a good intensive polish.

For the chemical 3D's towel kleen works ok. Its the only gallon tub i have lol Its about 1/2 gone after 2-3 years.

I think i will look for something less bulky next time, maybe.

Carpro's MFX is very expensive, maybe try the p.e.n.i.s stuff haha

if I'm being honest, I do not wash new ones, but I do inspect, it's a small thing to wash them, but I've never considered it being necessary

while we're at it, i'll grab a pair of underwear from a package and put em on <shrug> 52 years, nothing's shriveled up and fallen off yet

as for the old, my MFs seem to be in great condition, they have been washed and dried many times...I use laundry soap made for folks who are sensitive to perfumes, softeners, etc....it was just a simple odorless wash, and it has done great

when I've used an MF to apply a sealant like Cancoat or High Gloss, i demote those to rags, they don't even get washed with the ones that will make it back to the surface of a clear coat
