Reading GTECHNIQ Wheel coating directions and I noticed that it says avoid acidic cleaners. Made me wonder what cleaners to avoid or conversely use. For instance, I assume that the iron removing/color changing wheel cleaners are generally ok? How about Sonax full effect (have some I need to use up)? IIRC it has both the iron removing and acidic components. Also, only noticed that provison In Gtechniq directions.

BLOB: cleaners safe and harmful to coated wheels?

Eta: for when they need extra help, I’ll be using normal rinseless on them most often.

All you need is soap and water to clean coated wheels with the occasional decon every few months. I use zero wheel cleaners on coated wheels.

:iagree:That's the main reason to coat your wheels, ease of cleaning, no harsh wheel cleaners needed.

I was thinking more of the decon/if usual doesn’t work then what to avoid.

Id say iron remover or carpro descale if you are doing your paint decon might as well hit wheels with it as well if they are coated.

Otherwise when my wheel are actually dirty during a normal wash i will spray my diluted 3d yellow and then rinse just to loosen the heavy b4 using soapy bucket of water and brushes.
