Claying the windows, Do they need protection after?

After claying the car you put wax to protect it.
But what about the windows?
After claying the windows should I put something on them as well?

I will clay the windshield when just cleaning doesn't get it done. First I clay then use DG 501 for a light polish. Finally, its either DG 521 or AW to leave a nice smooth finish--plus it works better than Rain-X for rain to literally fly off without needing wipers while driving.

by hand. simply wipe it on with a damp applicator, and wipe it off with a dry MF towel.
