Annoying Spam not being taken down?

Agree. The only time we really need one is when a bot makes it past the defenses and spams a thread or two. It's nice to have a free-range forum. You don't need a moderator to talk to people here any more than you need a referee to chat with someone at a pub or Cars and Coffee.

So I received this reply from “Admin” this morning.

At least there is some acknowledgement.

I interpret that as meaning no admin is actually logging on here in person to check up on things. I’m surprised you got a response

Agreed.

Now I want spam or some pork roll/taylor ham and the posts are still up.

I still see the spam in the find a rare car thread

Reading between the lines, it also seems the admin may not be all that current on vBulletin. Going to a different software package for any part of the system is kind of the last-resort, nuclear option. Not something you typically do because a feature stops working correctly. Rebuild the server? Maybe. Punt to a whole different platform? Hm.....

I finally got fed up with having to scroll past those annoying posts and used the “ignore list” for the 1st time. On Tapatalk. Simply click on the user, then click on the 3 dot icon in the top right of the screen and click “ignore”
Easier than I thought and it actually works. Do it if you use Tapatalk.

If you view the forum on the PC, using ignore works pretty well too. You can see the ignored party posted something, but the content isn't there.

I’m like PaulMys, stubborn old dogs who take forever to evolve.
We sort of insist to do things the hard way… Except for him using a snowblower, I dunno what got into him as far as that goes. If it was me you know the shovel is the only way we do it.lol.

our apologies, we are having some issues with vbulletin, we will be doing a migration into another software in the upcoming weeks. We 1st have to migrate into a new server, will keep everyone updated by next week.

Thank you for responding.

There are a lot of passionate, knowledgeable and helpful people on this forum, so it's sad to see spam ruining the vibe.

Thanks for responding and while we've got ear, it would be nice to have some "official" statement about this forum going forward

There are some of us who really like THIS forum and don't frequent other social media platforms for various, legit reasons.

I speak for many when I say I appreciate this being here
