Let’s talk tire dressings!

Is it lame that I still like Meguiar's Endurance?

YES.........................................................................................

........................but we all have products that work for us and not others.

I stocked up on Meguiars Endurance Gel when they were $6.47 I like it allot. Just thick and have to apply with applicator.

Thanks for the reply. I feel content knowing you like it since I know you have alot of experience using it.

I don’t use it on my own vehicles but use it on some customers vehicles when I want to provide something that’ll last longer than your typical water based dressing.

- I’ve only experienced tire sling once in my life. It was on some really big truck tires and without typing out a long story, it was an oddball situation. Other than that I’ve never had it happen.

- I see Carpro Perl makes alot of your top 5 lists and that makes me feel good as I’ve gone through a bottle of the stuff and there’s no way on earth anyone can convince me that it’s better than Meguars Hyper dressing @1:1 in any way.

It doesn’t look better, it doesn’t last longer, it’s not easier to apply, it doesn’t smell better, and it’s not a better value.

I'm still on my PERL. I plan to use DG next but who knows when.

Well, if there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that no one agrees at all about tire dressings.

That's because they haven't tried Pure:est tire dressing or TW Mr. Cartoon Tire Coat

Cartoon tire coat is good? Is it similar to Endura?
It is other than it's not black, has that bluish tint when you apply it and dries to a nice finish

I saw it at Oreillys the other day and thought about it, but I don’t really have a need for it as far as personal use.

I'm assuming it's because you like re-applying products Ric, so do I and honestly, after a while, I'd clean the tire and top up with something like Pure:est

I'm running it exclusively on my g/f car and it's working great

On my personal car it’s for fear of having adverse effects on the whitewalls. A tire coating can make a bunch of claims and they’re usually good when it comes to regular tires, doing it on whitewalls is a whole nother story.

You’re asking for it to apply clear, and protect that whitewall and keep it gleaming white just like the day you cleaned it to perfection and then do it for however long it’s supposed to last. And you can’t just top it off because if you need to top it off that means it’s already started to fail which means the whitewall has probably started to get dirty and will require a complete strip of the tire coating to start over? Most coatings are really hard to remove. I’m not risking my tires @ $400 each.

I don't blame you on bit, no reason to risk it

I almost bit the bullet and bought the Pinnacle Tire Coating, actually I did order it but then cancelled my order when I read reviews and saw some pics where alot of people complained about it turning yellow on their tires. Not everyone, but enough for me to pass.

I couldn’t believe it,but I discovered two bottles of Armor All in my garage. I must’ve used them for wheel wells. I gave them to my dad who still uses it on the Jeep’s tires.

My sister knocked over and spilled a bottle of Armor All on my driveway.........................the stain is still in the concrete 17 years later. Imagine trying to get it off your tires, rubber and plastics then.

It’s got petroleum distillates in it. I’m no expert but my 1st thought would be that it’s kinda similar to removing a tough oil stain? What chemicals have you tried to use to remove the stain off your driveway?

You call it a stain but Armor All calls it 17 years of PROTECTION for your driveway!
