Well, I finished another black Bimmer...(3 so far) and have a Gray 530i in the line.

My dealer gave me explicit instructions to only post finished shots of cars because he had a potential customer "find" some posted pics of the car he was interested in that showed some in-process work on scratches being done. I can truly understand the predicament the dealer was placed in, so from now on, I'll just post finished pics with the products I used.

This X3 was a start-to-finish System One Polish X3 and a final coat of 3M Performance Finish wax. I have to say, the 3M product (which AutoGeek carries I believe) is very similar to Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant. It goes on quite easily with a pc and really gives a super slick finish. Nice stuff and decently priced.

Here ya go folks:

If I do post some in-process pics, I'll crop them so the actual car won't be shown...just the process area (like a scratch).

Thats a thing of beauty im kinda new and i see you the man in here, i have just a few questions. have you ever used system 1 with a makita rotary? if so how are the results? and also that foam pad combo with the wool on the other side does it just come in 8inch? if not how would you put a foam pad / wool pad combo together in a smaller size like 5 or 6 inch? as far as the color of the foam pad ( i use the edge system of pads) ex; would i use a yellow green or blue bad with a heavy or medium cut wool pad? ( i hope you understand what im askin....lol) and again i love your posts i been autogeekstalking them....lol :D

I would imagine the Makita rotary would equal the work of my Dynabrade or DeWalt (less some weight). At present, I use the System One Foam/Wool 8 inch pad on big areas, then switch to the Edge 6 inch wool pads for bumper curves, headlights, etc. They (Edge) are supposed to come out with 6 inch Foam/Wool for the System One product and I'll definitely get some. At present, I use the Yellow or Green Edge pads on the 6 inch diameter, then switch to another rotary and use a finish pad on a regular backing plate.

If you are doing your own vehicle, Souveran is definitely at the top of the heap in beauty. The depth it gives a vehicle is incredible. However, the BMW's I do are all up for sale and I need a good quality product that will last some time with an owner that gives the car ? treatment.

System One Polish provides a great base for compounding and polishing with a single product.

looks great as always, and it is starting to sound as if you are employed by that new BMW dealership that Hitler just opened up, tell that guy not to take things to damn seriously:cheers:

No more before pictures :(?! Looks like I'll have to buy a second home in Kansas if I want to see a magic show, lol. The X3 looks great!

Clay: he was a bit upset by finding out that I posted the pics of a scratch repair (on a AutoGeek sponsored site too....). And, it is a 6 Series Bimmer with a price to boot! The potential customer didn't care, but just mentioned it and the dealer thought I blindsided him. So, to maintain peace and tranquility in the shop, I'll do finished pics or crop pics of a process so a viewer won't know which car it is.

Oh well, I'll still have plenty of finished pics to show.

Great work as always Toto and thanks for sharing. As far as only showing the finished pics, I see it as just one more area where your professionalism sets a standard we should all try to show - it's the customers cars... respect them. Hat's off to you.

Right on customers always right kinda like a wife.TOTO awesome as always I like reading your post .

I understand where he is coming from for sure, maybe you can get him to agree to after the sale posts, and then cycle your photos so that you are posting after the car has left the lot, it is funny that someone pinpointed a car via the net, good CSI work there. I just think process and before and after shots are more beneficial, as I am sure you do also, especially on bad cars. As always, great work and remember, Big Brother is always watching...
