Is it important to have a payment processor?

I’m building a website for my business, and I’m planning to use a service checkout where clients can schedule their appointments and pay from the get go or pay later which led to try using stripe as a payment processor. But is it important for me use it? Or can I just instead have the option to schedule an appointment and pay later which would be more convenient? Since I’ve had customers before who paid mostly in cash but it was a cheaper service, now that my prices are higher would it be better to have that in place?

I can't imagine anyone would pay upfront for a detail. But speaking as someone who doesn't own a detailing business, I think you've got to be able to take credit cards.

From a consumer standpoint, yes. I presume stripe is similar like square where they make even a small reader one can adapt onto a iPad, etc.
