Is this forum slow on your PC?

I sure hope so. It was so bad, I thought it had gone belly up until I accidentally left a tab open with it running and discovered it was just loading treads very slowly.

Autopia was slow before, it's not working at all for me now, if you click on "forum" it just comes up with the header and a blank page. Clicking on "home" gives you a white screen with "file not found". The "new posts" works, but of course is empty.

I was seeing the same then when clicking "forum" or "new posts". The trick is you have to let it sit on that screen and eventually the threads will appear. For me, it's at least a couple minutes for them to load. Typically I'll open it on one tab and just let it do it's thing while doing something else in another tab. Once in a thread it seems pretty responsive, it's getting the forum-level content to load that seems to be the problem.

Of course, that's just me. YMMV.

I've let it sit all day in an open tab, I can't get any threads. I've been clicking on things in the ribbon menu, as I noted above.

Weird, I just tried something else, when I clicked on the logo, I got to the "home" page where all the subforums are listed, but if I click on any threads or subforums, all I get is a page with the header and the footer...but nothing else. That's using Chrome, FWIW.

Why have two forums?

Well, to start with there are a lot of historical posts at Autopia, since that forum goes back to 2001 or something. When Mike Phillips was musing about what was going to happen to the PBMG forums, he made a suggestion that the vB forums could be "archived" by closing them to new members and new posts, but leaving them for reference purposes. Obviously that's not what happened to this one. But I think we'd lose a lot of contributors at Autopia that probably would never join here or know to join here--Accumulator, Ketch, StockDGS, etc.

The argument could be made that old posts at Autopia are worthless since many of the products and techniques are outdated, not available, etc. On the other hand, where are you going to learn to "spitshine" with a wax?

Since the upgrade it's working fine for me, I sold all my info to Russia.

I'm glad to see the speed issue has been addressed, and the newer format is most appreciated, especially for uploading pictures. I strayed from here for a while mainly because of the speed and interface, which were sorely outdated.
