Need a new soap - Anything new or worth trying?

I don’t know what the scent is, but it’s subtle that’s for sure. I think that was done on purpose because it was intended for commercial use and if you’ve got employees having to work with it day in and day out, the last thing you want to do is overwhelm them with a strong scent that could get people tired of it or even worse give them a headache.

As far as 1st impressions of the NXT soap… It’s a good soap, scent is kinda funky the same way Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere is funky, suds in the bucket are excellent, suds in the foam cannon are good not super great, lubricity is excellent, rinsing ability was good but I rinsed it with the power washer, I’ll have to see how it rinses with the garden hose.

How much did you end up picking up the NXT for? How many ounces did you use in the foam cannon?

That's weird, I got the 400:1 off the Meg's product page I linked above, but now looking at the back label on Amazon, it says "Dilution 400:1" and right underneath that it says 1 oz per 5 gallons. Someone at Meg's seems to be bad at math.

I found 400:1 to be the sweet spot. 1 oz to 5 gal lacks lubrication in my opinion.

Then why did they call it Graphene? Maybe to signify its to be used with the graphene system for prep etc? Is using a soap thats as strong as reset every week okay? Seems like it would take a toll on the protection on the car. I dont use ceramics, so I need a soap thats gentle.

Reset is fine for weekly wash. Won’t harm sealants.

Turtle Wax Slick N Slide is easy cheap and favorable reviews.

Super concentrated Bilt Hamber Auto Wash is nice.

Current favorite for me although can only get from Carzilla. Free shipping to US over $80.

From what I remember of Graphene (Adams) was that it doesn’t leave anything behind even with the resin. It has a ph of 9 I think and citrus degreasers to clean coatings. I do personally think this would not be good for waxes and sealants

How much did you end up picking up the NXT for? How many ounces did you use in the foam cannon?

It’s currently $13.59 for 64oz. bottle on Amazon.

I still have this much left in the foam cannon for the next wash.

You know what, I just realized something.. I filled up the foam cannon bottle to the 700ml. line with water then added soap until 1000ml. which means that I added 10oz. of soap? Wth that’s alot of soap I used!

This is why I hate the metric system.

I change my rating of foam in the cannon to mid/mediocre.

It's been on sale in Australia since it was launched, so I guess that theory plays out. When I wrote the review on it recently, I couldn't find NXT on the Megs US websites.

Does using a soap like Reset, allow for less scrubbing via the mitt? Is that how "better" soaps work? Does the soap do a lot of the heavy lifting without scrubbing from the mitt? Whats the benefit of using a more expensive soap versus a cheaper one?

Reset is weird in that it tests pH neutral but is said to clean like an alkaline soap. It's known to be a little harder on traditional waxes, but it's not the stripping soap the name suggests.

For the most part, the extra money goes into slickness and formula concentration. However, that doesn't always play out and it depends on the market and how products are priced against competitors. Put it this way, Meguiar's Gold Class and Carpro Reset are priced within a few dollars of one another in Australia. Gold class is a good soap, but Reset is better.

Been using Gtechniq G for a couple years now and l love it. Very safe for my ceramic coating truck as well as non coated vehicles. Safe yet very effective cleaning properties.

Yep!

- Easier to pour
- Is more concentrated
- Rinses better
- Smells better (subjective, but I've only heard one person say they didn't like the smell of Reset)
- Cleans better
- Doesn't leave behind gloss enhancers/fillers
- Foams better
- Slicker

I've found Hyperwash cleans so well I don't need to bother with any type of pre-wash nor do I have to to do any periodic "decon" wash with something like Reset for my coatings. I can't say that about any other soap I've used, to include 3D Pink, which is pretty decent, but doesn't perform as well as Hyperwash.

I believe it has "intelligent surfactants" that are alkaline but through their formulation it ends up being pH neutral. I'm no chemist but the stuff works.

It doesn't reset paint by stripping waxes or sealants as some people think. It was designed first and foremost to be a soap geared towards maintaining ceramic coatings so its resets the coating by removing contaminants and leaving the surface free of anything that could "clog" the coating. I'd say mission accomplished. I've tried Hyperwash which is good and an incredible value but I keep coming back to Reset. The slickness and cleaning power are second to none in the pH neutral space.
