Top overrated/overpriced detailing products sold today

Nozzle guard are getting cheaper and from someone who has had the nozzle shot off at Mach 1 and barely miss my care worth it.

Not sure if true but Griots says their MF wash works better on sealants and polish residue. Regular detergents for dirt and stuff clothes normally see.

It’s directed to mix with a F&C detergent as the both have a purpose. They’re also reason I wash on hot.

I have 1 but rarely use it. Oddly enough it cost way more than the standard tips and it’s the only one that started rusting.

I wonder what kind of job Rags2Riches would do on normal dirty laundry. I’m surprised nobodys tested that.
 
To me the hype is usually more on the experience (suds, slickness, scent, emotional) rather does it actually does the job. So it is slick..does that mean it is actually safer.

I am not a for money detailer but to me these detailers would buy products that get the job done for the least money. I see them only buying in gallons, Now, premium detailers often have an image so are going to tout high end looking products as part of their arsenal.

I agree 100% on this, I have a real problem with "the sprayer is bigger than the bottle" brands

Other than possibly true ceramic coatings I doubt there are more than a small handful of chemicals we use that actually costs more to produce than the bottle/sprayer they are in

I get that some people don't want to play chemist and fill secondary bottles with mixes of product and water but products/bottles that used to be 32 oz became 24 oz then 20 oz and now 16oz and some even smaller and the VALUE is just not there

I wish I could quit Polish Angel but nothing to my eyes made the black mustang pop as well of a coat of fresh PA. I will say not much could bead and sheet beads off in all my testing for 2 months.

I agree. I really doubt anyone that uses the services of a detailer would know the difference between a high end product in a fancy bottle and something that could be bought in an auto parts store unless they were a serious car person and then one would think they would be doing their own detailing.

However if these high end detailers aren’t already refilling fancy bottles with other products I’m sure they have considered it unless specific products are mentioned in the pre detail discussion. If so that would be fraud but if no specific products were promised then let the customers think what they may. I’m sure they buy in bulk so they need to transfer a product anyway.

It’s a business. So every extra dollar spent on products is one less dollar profit. I’m quite sure most customers check what company B and company C are charging for the same services. Most times another $100.00 isn’t going to fly with a potential customer with the excuse “well we use better products”

I have heard that before about PA and products like Beasleys, which is why I specifically said a small handful of products

I acknowledge there are some simply outstanding products out there

I am out of sealant/topper products. I could use the Ech20 I have. I thought about using Amsoil Ceramic or Collinte Beadcoat. Not really necessary though to top CC IMO. Can Coat Evo still going strong.

Ech2o is a great idea, it just works as an advanced QD or as a RW, kill 2 birds with 1 stone

All Meguiar's products sold in Australia!

Some of the products are brilliant, but ALL of them are grossly overpriced. Compare an equivalent also US-made P&S product, any megs product is $20 - $50 more expensive. At those prices, the extra price doesn't bring a correspondingly better product. In which case, I may as well buy Carpro, Gyeon or Koch Chemie product, which are often more concentrated making them even better value.

The same concept applies to Adam's here, I love their products but they are priced out of the market.
