Top overrated/overpriced detailing products sold today

You could soon see 20% - 60% tariffs on any detailing products that aren't manufactured in the US, if what I'm seeing on the news is correct.
Your right, I didn't even think about that when Trump said it, I was thinking only cars and goods from China

The way it's being reported here, it's 60% for anything from China, and 20% for goods from anywhere else. I don't know how many detailing products come from China though.

I can only speak for myself but I'll pay 20% extra for some products

So that import duty/tax is a killer, huh CarPro/Gyeon all day over Meg's anyways

To a degree, but the local importer is on crack, they have their head in the sand.

Same, but they have to be better products to command that price. The Megs stuff has so much fat built into the prices. Put it this way, Hyper Wash or Reset for the same or similar price?

I've never tried Hyper Wash but it sure has a following, I love Reset, just bought a 32 oz bottle of it infact

Don't hold your breath on that happening. As far as that goes don't hold your breath on much of anything said/promised during the campaign. It is just campaign mumbo jumbo. People can be very gullible and many times just don't use common sense.
Didn't your mama ever tell you dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see?

Well it will be interesting to see. All these ideas being thrown at the wall, I guess we just have to see what sticks.

1. Nozzle Guard pressure washer tips
2. Microfiber detergent
3. Drill brushes

What are some things that you think are maybe overpriced, gimmicky, or flat out overrated?
I used tide but i find that dedicated microfiber soaps doesnt leave suds or soap residue on my microfibers as much as tide does. I tried different amount of tide and it always leaves my towels soapy , no matter the amount of cycles. 3d soap does a better job and in the long run probably saves me money as i only have to do one cycle instead of 3 .

Gyeon products are over hyped for me. Never had luck with their coatings or spray sealants. Always left streaking and water spotting , i just gave up on them

Also ceramic coatings. Done with them , i used to watched reviews and i tried a few of them … i removed them from all my cars , i only do waxes or sealants now…

Easier to apply, cheaper, easier to correct ,easier to remove which allows me to try different products

Do you use the extra rinse selection? Also adding a cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle will dilute the suds and help with removing anything left in your items that the Tide did not get.

Grit guard has got to be the most pointless thing ever invented, but they sell millions of them because people actually believe fine particles will settle to the bottom as they’re sloshing their wash mitt around.

Come on man

The only thing I can disagree with is application. Alot of today's ceramic coatings are just as easy to apply/remove as a sealant is, all other points are true

I will say, corrections aren't needed as much with proper wash techniques but soft paint can be more to deal with for sure

From the videos I've seen, especially the newer designed ones especially, they seem to work

I think it's supposed to be used wet but I know this, Dr. Beasley products are smaller bottles and expensive and I just don't hear people gush about them

I don't know about gushing, but I do like Dr. Beasley's microsuede products. There are only a couple companies out there who even make products for microsuede/Alcantara, so I appreciate the fact they put their toe in that niche area. So far they have kept my interior looking pretty good.

As the joke says, "How can you tell when a politician is lying? Their lips are moving." I think we can add "fingers typing" to that as well.

Trade wars are no different than conventional combat. There are no winners, only losers.
