What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

This is the response I got.

This is how a few of the PRO kits went out during Black Friday. We ran out of the boxes due to such an influx of Black Friday orders, instead of cancelling your order because we couldn’t fulfill the coating, we figured you would rather have the actual product instead of nothing. So you received all of the necessary items that come in the kit, just without the box.

If this is unacceptable for you, I am happy to send you a return label for the coating, and once received back in our hands and inspected we can refund your money for the item.
Seems pretty reasonable and fair, what will you be doing

I can see a customer wanting to actually see the product that will be applied to their car, I know I did (after the fact) with the coating on my new car

Although the box means zero in the overall scheme of things I would rather be seen by my customers as using a premium product (Zipang comes to mind)

You would have thought a quick email giving you options would have been in order

If Chris had ordered that coating for a scheduled job and didn't have time to go through "If this is unacceptable for you, I am happy to send you a return label for the coating, and once received back in our hands and inspected we can refund your money for the item." he might lose the job

Not trying to start a pie fight here but the product is shown in a box and he had a reasonable expectation of receiving the product in a box

What he got looks like a Chinese "Coating" from Amazon

I believe it to be worse for you because this is your first order. And your first impression was not what you thought it would be. I wouldnt sweat it

I’ll probably keep it but it is a bit disappointing. It’s like finally going on a date with a woman you’ve had a crush on for months and she shows up in sweats and an old t shirt.

Couple this with the fact that my HLR75 arrived yesterday already broken and it’s been a disappointing week for deliveries.

I hate getting deliveries where there is obvious crush damage to the bottles, not leaking, but not round anymore, and there's no damage to the box, so you know they've packed them that way. Where I used to work we would right off damage goods and give them to the workshop or showroom to use up.

I've got no connection with ADS but I'm sorry about your first impression but I'll REALLY be awaiting your SECOND impression

A crushed bottle is one thing. A broken polisher costing almost $400 is another especially when you were hoping to use it on an upcoming job tomorrow. Now I have to wait for Rupes’ warranty department to remedy the issue which will probably take weeks.

There may not be a second impression. In conversations with my mentor he recommended another coating brand, CCI, that he switched to which promises the same durability and longevity as ADS Pro. He’s a no nonsense guy and only uses products that get results. My gut is telling me to switch to CCI. He’s been detailing for over 20 years so his word means a lot. If I get a wholesale account in the next few days, ADS might be going back.

I'm mean you gotta go with your gut, especially since a trusted person has had good luck with another brand whom you trust.

Sorry, I Wasn't trying to downplay your justified anger and disappointment, especially as you had lined up a job for it, this was either bad packing, parcel mistreatment, a combination of both, or just a complete accident. Just saying I hate it when it's obviously bad customer service.

I just checked out their website, products are NOT cheap but your mentor has had good luck with them, hope you get that account to lower the price to raise your profits

Yeah after reading all this I would've liked to have gotten an email about this beforehand, this way no surprises, plus you've stepped up to make THIS brand represent YOU

I didn’t take it that way. I’m just pissed at the whole situation. You work hard to make to upgrade your equipment and can’t even enjoy the spoils of your labor.

Is this new machine coming from overseas?

CCI only comes in 50mL bottles so when you break it down by cost per mL they’re about the same. I’m willing to be that the wholesale price of CCI will make it cheaper than ADS.

I see the $188 and $288 coatings, they've got a $60.00 spray product, high end stuff there
