Road Salt Remover / Neutralizer ?

Since I don't have a pressure washer do you think I could "thin out" Auto-foam a bit more when I use it? I have a gallon of both and wanna use Auto-foam as well

Not sure. Maybe try it with the Hydroshot?

How do you get salt out of auto carpets.

There's quite a few youtube videos on that. You vacuum up what you can. Then spray with vinegar & water at 50/50, scrub it after a few minutes and vacuum it up with a shop vac. You'll want to air dry overnight because they'll stink. Last year, I just vacuumed them and waited until Spring to do the vinegar/water.

I actually used the Worx hydroshot 2 weeks ago when I tried Touchless for the first time and while it does rinse the car, eventually, I only use it for tire/wheels/wells. A hose has as much pressure and more volume.

I will be experimenting with the combo at various ratios but I'm looking forward to a very clean 2022 with this new found combo

I would email Bilt Hamber. Something about the chemical itself clings i believe so you may mask hydrophobics

I will do that and at the very least I might just have to take my IK Foam 9 to the quarter wash when I wanna use Auto-foam. I can just Foam the entire car there and then rinse it off

With new Undercarriage PW attachment in hand, I've never used the injector port on the water pressure inline .
This (salt neutrailizer) might be a worthy option to consider using on the inline.

Has anyone done it ?

This stuff does -work-, albeit I have not read up on high high PH it is.
Year ago, I saw something my Plow Guy uses on his and it cleaned it down to minimal film post rinse.

For all you folks that got to deal with salt just saw that Stars and Stripes touchless wash neutralizes road salt.

This is what I used. Vinegar neutralizes salt. Bought it at Dollar Tree for $1.25. Has a soap in it so if one puts it in a foamer it foams up and sticks/dwells on the undercarriage. I used it in my IK Pro Foam 2. Worked great. Rinse/ apply vinegar/ rinse again. Used it diluted 2:1. Will get quite a few cleanings from this half gallon.

I have been using the sh#### out of my undercarriage wand since acquiring it last year. One of the best things detailing related I've got in the last 10 years and don't know why I didn't buy one sooner. I used to get on my knees, stoop, etc with an extended lance just trying to hit all the nooks and crannies. I also had a corrugated -metal- device that allowed it to be for my PW gun (corrugated). The under carriage broom does it all standing up.

I have some variant of Road Salt Neutralizer I got from my PlowGuy. It works...his stuffs doesn't appear to be a rust bucket. I did some homework on it and I cannot recall - there was a answer I was seeking regarding the product and never got so I never got around to using this stuff so I wasn't 100% clear about it's in and out.

How are you guys applying this stuff just short of jacking up the car or putting it on a 4 post lift to actually get the underside of the chassis ?

I just drove the car on a set of ramps. Front wheels first. Just layed on driveway and was able to get front half of undercarriage. Then turned car around and backed onto the ramps. Got back half.

You must have a lot better luck with ramps than I do.

The only ramps I would use is RaceRamps......I'm too Leary about the rhinos or the like.

Well don't recall what brand mine are but they are not race ramps brand. Have had them for twenty years. If I'm going underneath for any maintenance I will chock one of the wheels that are on the ground. Perfectly safe. Been doing vehicle maintenance since I was 16. Never heard of a set of ramps fail. Heard of dumb people going under a vehicle that was supported by a hydraulic jack or resting a vehicle on a concrete block.
Also for undercarriage cleaning one does not need to get underneath the vehicle. Just needs to be elevated on the ramps so one can spray underneath. My IK foamer easily reached all areas under the vehicle. But if i needed to get underneath it would do so with my methods.

For any heavy duty stuff that the vehicle needs to be elevated I have a Kwik Lift.

Ditto except I was 15.

It's not that, it's always a problem with the clearance, or one slides and the other one doesn't,
When i use them inside the garage they want to slide due to the smooth concrete.
So i just use 2 pieces of thin commercial carpet approx 18 inches wide and 6 ft long. Slide those right up against the leading edge of the tires and then put the ramps on the carpet. They dont slide then.

Used to have a set of metal ramps but now have plastic/ABS. They have a more gentle rise. When my wife had an Accord it was pretty low but still made it on and off the ramps.

There is also always the problem of figuring out where the nose of the car is going to be after you drive onto them in the garage. I think the ones I have now are Rhino Ramps, I dunno, I just never use them.

Well I use mine for oil changes, applying Fluid Film to my Tacoma. Beyond that I'm using a jack and jack stands ( brake jobs and such) Beyond that I use the Qwik Lift. To be honest it freaks me out a little more to get under a vehicle that is on jack stands than on the ramps.
How do you do oil changes if you don't elevate the vehicle?
