Rinseless Washes - 2022

What do you think of this comment:

"Rinseless is not designed to release dirt from media. I'm not exactly sure why this is such an issue amongst internet detailers. Rinseless is designed to rinse less, pull away dirt with ease, and safe washing. Media's are designed to HOLD dirt. No matter what someone is cleaningnthats dirty, the media will continue to pick up dirt. Or why would we wash them? Sponges are the worst media to use to wash anyway and they hold the gunk and are not good for more than a handful of washes, a fun fact that many dont know. And if you want to use one media for the whole car then foaming is your best method although more than one should always be used especially if "scratching" is the fear. Griots Rinseless is a great product right along with less fancy labels. The popularity contests are pretty worn out in products imo. Finally, Youtube is not for training as you called it, for sure. I learned that fast. Its just a guide, then you sort it out. Not all the internet tells us is gospel. Have a great weekend."

No grit guard and 1 bucket

I don't get it because he had a bucket right next to it that seems to have the Dirt Dropper with the Scrub Wall. (EDIT: I see he used that later in the video for the "control" wash)

So back to the product...it's blue, it's polymer, it smells like berries, it stains the media....looks to me like Turtle Wax...er, I mean ONR. They even threw in the "use it to soften your water for conventional wash"...what/who else has made that claim besides ONR/OPT?

Oh excellent. That's great news because I've got about 8 RW sponges I can start using once and throwing away then.

In defense of...someone...OPT has always said that the media staining from ONR is "safe" because the chemistry of ONR allows microscopic particles to go deep into the fibers/pores of the wash media, but these particles are too small to mar your finish, or something like that. Maybe that will be Griot's answer, also (via Dr. G?).

I've been using sponges for quite some time, scrub them on the grit guard while using, every panel infact and then they go in the shower with me and cleaned and I stomp them...I think I'm good

My rinse bucket says other wise, i.e. from a RW on my g/f's old Cruze...before and after

The way I look at it, foam polishing pads are always less aggressive than microfiber polishing pads. The same applies to the wash media. All things being equal a foam sponge will be less aggressive than a microfiber towel. Plus a microfiber towel tends to hold onto dirt where as a rinseless sponge will tend to release the dirt. The Detail Projects guy on YouTube has also proven this to be the case when doing his scratch tests with the various rinseless washes.

What about using wool mitts with rinseless? I think I'm going to start a YouTube channel to promote that, and then start a store selling wool mitts of different colors and fiber length. Maybe I'll partner up with Sheepstar, since he's already got the sheep thing going. Nobody steal my idea!

I just got the Griot's Garage wash mitt on a stick, looking forward to using this with both traditional and RW's. Even though the TAOS isn't that high, well, either am I, so it's going to make washing better and safer...now if it were only spring

Wait a minute...I have been eyeing up the Autofiber one, I'm going to have to look at the Griot's now.

I bought the new Meguiar's one a week ago, it has an extendable curved arm for better reach over angle, and the head can be pivoting or locked, which will be impossible to to do when it's wet and slippery. Weirdly the wash media is black noodles, so it will be difficult to tell how dirty it is.PSX_20250203_132304.jpg

I got the Griot's Garage one because I got a gift certificate for them from my girlfriend, along with a couple other items, one being a free bottle of ceramic glass cleaner

No worries, have no problem with anyone buying whatever they want, it's just myself, can't support Pan or Thor in any way, shape or form

I get why you don’t like Pan. What did Eddie and Jamie do?
