Rinseless Washes - 2022

Another interesting thing about rinse less is the fact people(some) say a bottle will last a long time and it's cheap. If you use rinse less 90% of the time like me rinse less is more expensive than regular soap. I never understood that marketing ploy - another from OPT/Ivan probably. i use more rinseless per wash than soap - usually just 1oz of reset in 15 liters of water for instance.

I think rinseless is cheap.
Let's use Klasse's Carbon Collective example which is on the higher end of rinseless cost. $25.00 (including tax &shipping) for roughly 16 ozs. If he can get 16 washes out of that bottle then that's $1.56 per wash. Compare that to $10.00 per wash at the scratch em up automatic tunnel wash which that $10.00 is on the low end plus the gasoline to get there.
Other rinseless washes are much less expensive. I recently paid $41.00 ,including taxes for a gallon of Duragloss 932 which I believe is a very good rinseless wash. That breaks down to 48 cents per wash considering one is using 3 gallons per wash which is very reasonable at 1/2 gallon for the presoak and 2.5 gallons for the bucket wash. That's crazy cheap.

Makes one wonder why anyone would go to an automatic car wash. At least is Makes me wonder.

I like touch-free washes for winter maintenance, all the cracks and crevices, plus underneath it, it does help and then when there's those upper 30's/low 40's days you bust out the RW, leaning towards the stronger ones like Feynlab RW v3

I have no proof of the following however I strongly suspect that automatic car washes recycle the water. I imagine it is filtered but even so filtering wouldn't remove any chemicals (salt and snow/ice melting chemicals) that are washed off the hundreds of cars going through the automatic wash. Therefore the car wash is spraying your vehicle with rust/corrosion inducing chemicals.

I know if I owned an automatic car wash I'd be recycling the water. I have the advantage of having my own garage/driveway and hose system as well as a pressure washer. I can if desired rinse my car of chemicals in my driveway. If I don't want to spray my driveway with water which could freeze ill leave my vehicle in the street at the end of my driveway and do it there. Which I often do when cleaning my engine/etc.

It makes sense to recycle but I guess I trust the filtering system....speaking of using the touch-free wash, I might be back in the mix using my touch-free wash again...stay "tuned"

$28 for 500ml ouch. I won't be trying it. That's not even including taxes and shipping. I'm not sure who some these producers are trying to market towards...Not professionasl or DIYer's IMO. Nxtzen rinseless is pricey too. And lets not forget Owner's Pride. I almost bought that because of Eddie! haha

3 of the rinse less i mentioned do suggest higher dilution ratios. It's still really hard to wrap my head around a 1:1000 of rinse less - which will not be much of anything besides water.

No way i'm washing my car with 2 gallons of rinse less. That would be the argument for saying rinse less is cheaper.

I can do my car with just enough (prespray not included). If I do the Gary Dean Method. 8 towels to 2 gallons. But Camaro is pretty small.

It’s when I do sponge I use a lot more. I probably don’t ring sponge out enough.

You don't pre-treat doing the GD method

I do I am just saying I don’t take pre spray out of 2 gallons. To be honest even if I make five gallons I don’t dip my prespray bottle into the rinseless I’m putting on my car.

Anyone use the Nighthawk rinseless? It's apparently acidic. I can't confirm that. :D

Bottle might be dirty dusty. No need to get that into a clean bucket of rinseless. Then you pull out a wet bottle….

Just as easy to put a 1/4 oz rinseless into the sprayer. Makes pre treat a little stronger too.

I see your point here, I'm just trying to not stop twice to make seperate pre-wash when it's already right there infront of me

I hang my bottle on the side of the bucket or place it down somewhere clean but always brush it off with my hand

I posted my thoughts on this in "What did you do today detail related" but wanted to put a little something here. My car was 4 days "gritty" and I basically doubled the amount of solution, called for .8 oz and I went 1.5 oz, although instead of 3 gallons I did my usual 3.5 gallons.

I know this product isn't as cost effective but it competes directly with Feynlab RW v3, too bad we don't have the Cruze anymore to truely test it on but we've still got 2 monthes+ of winter...stay "tuned"

What happened to the cruze?

Got the brand new Griot's Garage RW in the collection now, looking forward to trying it very soon...along with Labocosmetica Alkaline & ACIDIC, I'm falling behind

I got the new Griot's today. I'm looking forward to trying it. I like the rinseless with wax that's been out for a while.

Yeah that's the purple stuff, tried it when it first came out but that was sooooo long ago. Probably not fair on my part but I don't remember alot about it, but I do like Griot's Garage Ceramic RW but this new product is strong, 1 oz to 2 gallons, looks promising

I grabbed this one this week. I don't really need it but these small, unknown brands I get a soft spot for and Mike G actually reviewed it. He compared to Idrosave without any spotting.

Maybe it's also partially due to the wintertime blues:
