What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Did a rinseless wash with Absolute. Didnt do wheels and tires as they were still good from the detailing i did earlier in the week. Afterwards put a coat of wax on with Jescar Ceramic Spray Wax. That was the reason for the wash so i could top the sealer withh some wax.

Also while doing this wash I tried the multiple microfiber towel/one bucket method. Was smoother than I imagined. Since I paint corrected trying to prevent marring the paint again. Wasn't too dirty before the wash but I loaded six 450 GSM towels in the wash bucket and only used four of them. Would think if it was dirtier might have needed a couple more.
Contemplating going with that method going forward.

I usually use 4 towels on my car but it's a smaller car so there isn't much real estate to cover.

First wash since winter storage last year. Full 2 bucket wash outdoors- it was 78 degrees yesterday. I have a Gtechniq crystal serum coating and I used their C2 V3 topper. Very happy with the gloss and slickness.

Put a Microfibre cloth under that cord so you don't friction rub the paint.

Washed the gf's car. She less than subtly mentioned that I could wash it and that I could do a rinseless if I wanted.

Haven't put any protection on the car yet so I went with Griot's Ceramic RW. Probably could have used some more cleaning power. Sprayed the car with N914 before using the Griot's.

Also pointed out her first dent to her. I put a small piece of 3M door edge film over it for now until I can get touch-up.

Will you have to pop the dent than touch up with paint, wet sand blend polish.

I really don't know anything about this guy. But he doesn't seem to have a very good reputation. So can somebody tell me what the issue is?

That’ll usually happen when you make ip stories about your health condition and changing it to something else in order to have a better back story. Also, profiting hundreds of thousands of dollars by running an illegal lottery while calling it a giveaway will have people looking you a little funny.

How are you today "Verifythesourse", or is it "M.Moron"?

Used the services of a professional detailer for her RAV4. Part of her birthday weekend. Place is up the street. Took their basic package. Exterior/Interior/engine and a 3-month wax. I was impressed with their results. Would use them again.

Showed my father in law how easy tec 582 is to use on his vehicle so that he can have easy protection for his Florida vehicle. The plan is to use it every few hand washes.

A QD on the Qashqai after doing the school pickup run, there was some very light rain, but it was the greasy finger smudges that I couldn't help but notice, would any of you guys leave this be, or would it require immediate attention. I used Bowden's Clean Detail, I haven't used it for a while, it's not recommended on single stage paint so I don't use it on the FJ, but it says it has anti-static properties, so for the Qashqai sitting inside it might be beneficial.PSX_20250331_163623.jpgPSX_20250331_163817.jpg

This was taken after the QD as well, the blue is reflected daylight, the purple up high seems to be the reflected fluoru lights. Although it probably still has some Blu Velvet wax under there somewhere, maybe that's masking it a bit.PSX_20250331_164145.jpg

I was at Walmart to get some motor oil so browsed the detailing section. It sure has expanded. Chemical Guys claims a significant part of the shelf space. The CG product labeling is "loud" but somewhat hard to read at a glance.

Mothers has lost a lot of shelf space with just a few products.

I've never used any of CGs actual chemicals, but I have used some of their applicators an MFs. I have to agree with you on their labelling, loud is a good description.

Way back before I found the "good" stuff, I used to favour Mother's product line over Meguiar's. While they were pushing Meguiar's hard, I was resisting, it's a bit like the iPhone/Android argument, you're on one side or the other. The funny thing is I'm on the android side, but I can't stand Samsung.

Craft beer tends to be like that. With so many products on the shelf, I don't want to spend the time needed to look at each one to figure out exactly what it is. So if it's a crazy label that doesn't have the beer style on the front, I'll probably never buy it.
