What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

After my Ryobi sprung a nice leak during a weekend of spring green up prep, I took the plunge since I already had a Lowe’s gift card. This is absolutely overkill for rinseless washing but it works far better than my IK Multi 12. I can’t say for sure but the fan tip may very well have 350 PSI of pressure.
Oh, so you did it! This will be an interesting forum topic of discussion, whether it's better to use acid/alkaline prep products, or just blast everything off with standard RW mix at 350psi.

You know, Touchless/AutoFoam/Primus/Preludio vs moar pressure!

Screw pressure on straight up dirt, just pushes it right into the paint, we all know better now than say years and years ago

Just from my first experience, using a RW with more pressure still won't equal using a good pre-wash like Touch-Less. It doesn't remove dirt the same way those lovely high pH surfactants do. I've got a mobile maintenance wash in a few weeks and this customer always makes sure to let her SUV get as filthy as possible so that's when I'll really be able to see how effective this machine is. I'll report back when this happens.

I agree about the good pre-wash during a traditional 2BM....BUT, have you tried the Labocosmetica Preludio alkaline or acidic RW pre-treats

Nope. Have no use for it in my arsenal. Since I do this semi-professionally I keep my products to a minimum. I've pretty much got every need covered with my current line-up. But, now that I have this sprayer I'm going to probably repurpose my IK Multi 12 and put Touch-Less in it at 1.5% PIR and use that to pretreat heavily soiled vehicles. I've seen people rinse off Touch-Less with a hose and have no issues so with 350 PSI I should have more than enough power to rinse off Touch-Less. Now I just need a guinea pig to try this on.

Cleaned the windscreen/windshield of my mum's car with no sun out i had to use a work light on a stand with a sensor that went off every 5 minutes. Hop in hop out hop in hop out, 🤬

Product used Mckee's 37 20/20 Cockpit glass cleaner. 🥥 scented.

I was just cleaning the inside of the windshield of the Qashqai in the garage, mainly the finger smudges where the sun shade gets opened and closed, and had the same problem, so I hung the Ryobi work light off the garage door. I used Garage Therapy One Glass on one of the new twisted loop towels, which are very grabby on the interior glass, so I'll keep them for the exterior.

Pre-work touch-free wash after all the rain yesterday, pre-wash was 3 oz of Griot's Garage Foaming Surface Prep in my 1000ml Mirolex sprayer

Tried the THOR/Stoners glass cleaner on the Bronco. Worked well but the aerosol overspray was a bear. Went to spraying on my towel rather than on the window.
How did it compare with just regular Invisible Glass

Been quite a while since I’ve used it but seems very similar. Dealing with the aerosol seemed more problematic than I remember.

Today, used the last of my GTechnic glass cleaner on my friends car* and put the P&S Reflect glass finisher on the interior glass.

*the one with the big dog. Seeing if it makes things easier to clean up nose prints.

They are selling that same can in Australia for $30 minus post so that's a NO from me to try it, i had a feeling the foam would just get everywhere.

ONR wash for the FJ today, I haven't used it for a while so I thought I'd refresh my memory. I used a few MFs as the FJ still wasn't that dirty, and one of my new small twisted loop towels for the final dry, I didn't even need to use any glass cleaner afterwards. It was so easy, I guess it helps having NV Jet on there

I also gave the wipers a treatment, I noticed a bit of chattering the last time i had to use them. Cleaned the rubber with 303 Aerospace Protectant, then smeared some graphite powder on them.

It is BUT not the Detail Co at $30 a can 🫣
I like a good comparison, so.......................

Invisible Glass (19-oz Aerosol) - $11.95 AUD to $14.00 AUD ($6.99 USD)
Invisible Glass (32-oz/946ml) - $18.95 AUD to $19.99 AUD ($7.99 USD)

Detail Co. Glass Cleaner (16-oz Aerosol) - $29.99 AUD ($11.99 USD)

So, what did we learn here? First, the Detail Co. stuff is at least twice the price over the Stoner aerosol, be that in AUD or USD, and that's for 16oz vs 19-oz for the Stoner. Second, we get raped in this country.

For anyone who has used Gyeon CanCoat, what is the shelf life of the product after it's been opened? I have a 3/4 full bottle that was opened last February but has sat since, cap firmly on. Due to the bottle not being clear, you can't really inspect for "floaties".
