Last time i was up Mt Wellington or whatever the Aboriginals have re named it, was summer time and snowing. Beautiful view of the city.
 
This is a 1963 Datsun Bluebird, my grandfather drove one of these in the early 70s, same colour too. It's the first car I remember being driven around in, apparently I always told him to go faster. My strongest memories are of how bouncy the seats were, no child seats back then, and the sign on the door saying windows must be wound up above 100MPH, I don't know if it could actually go that fast, they only made 60hp. Later I bought a Bluebird as my first car. This particular one is in Arizona, but was an Australian delivered car.

Last full day with the OEM Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on the car, almost 3 full seasons (KN tires on the KN rims back in 2023)

No matter what, unless it's actually raining, it goes through the touch-free wash every morning (or after work) and as you can see in the first pic weather was coming and it did rain about 30 mins later

I did treat my leather bits before going into work though. I've got a co-worker who just put a newer leather steering wheel on his Challenger "Shaker" edition and he scratched it, so I'm going to try and make it better

Bloody oath it did!

I also took it out this afternoon with absolutely nowhere to go in mind. I found a nice curvy road, selected track mode, gearbox in manual, windows down to hear the track exhaust mode echo off the trees. Absolute bliss!
 
Gotta vent to my fellow Geeks

As alot of you know I'm outside 24/7 365, plus near those pine trees that spray sap from late spring thru a good portion of summer but there's always been another problem...walnut tree

I already had 3 dings that needed to get fixed but after a storm blew through yesterday, 2 of them actually, I've now got THIRTEEN dings & dents, almost all on the roof, 3 of them are larger, a couple medium and some smaller

I can't even look at the car right now, yeah a good PDR guy can get them out, I hope, but it's just not the same car at this point, I don't even care if its clean right now honestly. I washed it this morning, full pre-wash and 2BM and upon drying the car is when they reared their head but it wasn't until I showed my g/f who thought I was "overblowing" it (that didn't help) that I got the final count

I'm very dejected right now because of our stupid F'n laws here about overnight, street parking, you can't do it...no reason either, so what the fukc do I do?! We're trying to move right now too, that's another story but plays into this as well. Sure, 1st world problems but that's where I live...I'm hurting guys🫨

I know exactly how you feel. My car sits outside 24/7 and is a daily driver as well. At my old job I was commuting around 150 miles per day (did that for 9 months) and the front bumper and hood absolutely got hammered with rock chips. I decided to just live with it since the car was never perfect to begin with when I purchased it.

Also, I was sideswiped recently and had to go back and forth with the body shop about dirt nibs and some other things they left behind when making repairs. It is definitely not the same as before, but I still do my best to keep it looking nice because that is just who I am as a person and I am sure you are the same way as well.

I never posted the pics of the damage because it just pissed me off to look at it but maybe it will help you feel better.

I'm truely sorry to see and hear about THAT! You are a true enthusiast here on our small but tight knit group and we LOVE your car for what it is, how its .added and ofcoarse how clean it always is🫡

I would be inconsolable if that happened to me

I understand how you feel, You feel like you want to dissown the car, start fresh ... Why is this happening to me etc, BUT with time it will pass.
