Ok I just ordered the System One pro and was curious about the cleaning of the wool side of the pad. What technique and what product do I use? And also what is the life expectancy of a wool pad?

The pad washer 2000 is the best so I hear for wool pads, a good spur and soaking them in DP pad rejuvenator works well too. Scrub it afterwards with a medium duty brush, like one you would use for rims, but not the rim brush of course.

Just a warm water rinse is all you need with the System One stuff. It rinses out quickly and I usually place my pad between 2 terry towels and stand on it. Then, I either spin dry it on the rotary or let it hang near the shop fan for a day to dry it out.

So just warm water? Thats cheap enough! Thanks Toto.
About how long can I expect the wool side of the pad to last? At the absolute most I will only correct 2 cars per month.

well, maybe not if you're using a diesel powered water heater LOL....that stuff is getting hi-buck, but that's another story.

I've probably done 6-8 cars using the System One pad and there is a red wear indicator piece of wool sewn in the pad. I'm not there yet!

I appreciate all of your input. I can't wait to use it on my truck!

You can spin dry it in a trash can or a bucket....
