I've read the same wytstang and I believe it was TOGWT that posted that info. Or maybe it was Toto?

Either way, it's a good thing I have a black pad and a blue pad. I even have red. BTW, I really like the way the 7.5" LC CCS Curved pads fit the Flex 3401 5.5" BP. Did a test fit when I got the new pads in last week. Was it the 5.5" pads that you have a lot that's keeping you on the fence about buying one?

BBrian, yes jeweling your paint was something I planned on doing...hence my questions about the lighter cut polishes.
 
Yeah I have like 6/7 lo pro orange pads, 2 orange, 2 white, 2 blue, and 2 green (CCS pads). Most new or used once on a panel. I gave all my edge pads (and adapter) to my bro and I might have 1 black, and 1 yellow 6.5 variable contact LC pad.

To get back on topic, I seems that SIP & 106 would have you covered for a variety of paints; or the new Wolfgang 3.0 Polishing Duo which is on sale as a kit at the moment.

Since the advice always given is to start with the least aggressive polish + pad first, I'd say 106 + white & black/blue lc pads to see what kind of correction you can accomplish first.
 
I have a small high end detail shop, so I look after 6-10 cars a week. I need something that is going to give me similar results to Presta 1500 polish and Presta swirl remover

okay......then what? Let's say 106 and white pad do not do well. Do you use SIP or do you stay with 106 and move up to a more agreesive pad? Also, if you move up to SIP do you start with a white pad? Just too many variables???????

Ahhh, I cannot provide a recommendation as I've never used Presta...sorry!

106 + white pad - little to no improvement on 1st try, step up to orange pad

106 + white pad - some, but not all swirls removed, try a 2nd pass before stepping up to orange pad

I think most of the veteran polishers on here will tell you only general rules to follow. Obviously, the way you work the polish has an effect too. Only experience will truly narrow the variables down to a manageable number. I am NOT a veteran polisher; I've just read many posts from them and made it a point to study the pictures they've provided of their work.

Good pictures posted on here will allow veteran polishers to see the extent of the damage done to the CC and advise which product + pad combo to use.

I'm still working only with 106 (and SystemOne to add yet another variable) + white, orange, and now green pads to get a feel for what I can correct with my new Flex 3401. I've been able to remove all of the swirls I could see, but there are still other defects that need to be corrected. However, I still need to do a 2nd pass to see what results I get. If I can't achieve the finish I want, then I'll be purchasing SIP or Wolfgang TSR 3.0.

I use Presta UCC and UCCL with wool for heavier correction. I love how it finishes down even with wool!! I always follow that up with 106ff and white. I have the Presta swirl remover and have yet to try it!! Mental note to myself: got to try it one day!
 
If you are going to correct you should use SIP and then use your final polish-i.e.-106ff or 85RD with a blue or black pad.
