My neighbor came over to me while i was washing my firebird and asked if i could detail his mid 90's Infinity Q45.He wanted me to polish it and have a good wax put on that will last through the summer.
So im thinking:
Wash
KAIO
Collinite 845
My question is i never used 845 and iv heard its a PITA to take off.So my question is what would be the right way to work with it from start to finish?would it be better to apply with hand or via PC with a blue pad?should it sit or be buffed off asap?

I've used it in the sun with no issues. It was actually very easy to remove.

instead of a wax you may want to look at a sealant. will last longer which means has a better chance of lasting most of the summer.

845 is some good stuff! Just be sure to put on thin. This is what my car looks like after some 845.

i was thinking about a sealant but iv read on here countless times the best longevity is with Collinite 845.

845/915 last longer then most sealants, their right there with full Zanio treatment or DG 105 which are tops for durability.

That looks great.my neighers Q45 is white.I noticed a difference after the KAIO on my white GTP.So im hopeing for better results with useing KAIO and 845 on white.

should i apply it by hand or with my pc with a blue pad?and should i go over the entire car first then go back over with a towel to buff off?

I'm casting another vote for the 845. I've been real impressed by it so far. It looks good on white, and it is very easy to use.

I find using one warm damp mf follow up with another dry mf helps me remove wax easier.

So in the parts department of the dealership that i work at, we sell Collinite 845. So i picked up the last bottle and took it to the desk. The parts guy that was there has been detailing on the side for over 15 years. He told me that if i wanted to rub untill my arm fell off then i should buy it. So he showed me this product called Vitreo and he swares by it. He claims almost all of his regular customers noticed a difference between Vitreo and 845. Plus he said that Vitreo is as easy as a wax to remove and it saved him tons of time. I dunno if any of you have heard of it but im gonna give it a shot hopefully this weekend and ill do a write up on it. The bottle claims 1 yr of durability but who knows. The parts guy has only been useing it for about 4 months now and says the water still beads up and the vehicles still have a great shine to them.

845 isn't bad to work with at all, especially if you use a PC to apply. Even by hand if you apply it thinly you'll be fine...

I have to agree. Spread it sparingly and don't let it set long at all. I have also found that surface prep which includes clay seems to make it come off easier for some reason.

Just my 2 cents....

ok well im going to give the Vitreo a shot first and give a write up.

You'll find that finding a detailer worth there weight in gold is as hard to find as a great technician. Because a person has been doing something for X years doesn't mean they're good or know what they are doing. Look at his work and judge them based on that and that alone. The Ol' saying "Actions speak louder then words" comes to mind. I've seen weekend warriors do better details then some of the full time detailer you find vids on the net (youtube comes to mind).

I beleive D&D detailing or something like that uses them. From the work posted they do a good job and he has mad skills.

:iagree: I use either a PC or a 3" cordless polisher to apply. Both work wonders!:buffing:
